Through one sneaky reminder from a former classmate, I discovered an old Xanga journal I had - the one even older from the last one I looked at. And boy, was I unfiltered on it. Everything I was reading was something I had forgot about but it's nice to be reminded of better times. I do complain, quite too much I might add but typically it's just about how I hate school and that I'm tired. That's still going on, I just try not to mention it in every entry I bother to post.

Everyone in my house is sick or half-sick as it is. There seems to be some bugs going around but I hope not to contract anything. I hate being sick even if it's just a runny nose and a sore throat. Although laying in bed for countless hours to rest feels good, that's probably the only upside. Day time television used to be amusing, but you can't even count on it these days when you have a sick day. I used to watch awful programming like soaps and Jenny Jones. What the hell happened to Jenny Jones? I watched that all the time as a kid, my favorite episodes were when the tweens were sent off to boot camp to modify their behavior and stop pushing their wheel-chaired mothers down the steps. It surprised me how vulgar kids who've barely reached puberty can be. Well, that's nature versus nurture for you.

At this very moment, I wish I had someone to talk to. Or at least a damned e-mail or forum discussion to reply to. I'm ACTUALLY in a mood to type out or express my feelings however they are. I haven't watched the 3 Ninjas series in a while. I only count the first three so it's a trilogy in my terms, the High Noon one doesn't count on it does not have any of the original boys or much of a plot for that matter. I know, they are just kid films and they don't ever have very original ideas, but come on...that last one was farfetched and released way after the last one. By then, they should have tried to not sell the 3 Ninjas hype so far down the road, it was almost ten years since the first one came out when they released High Noon in 1998. Ugh, must go look up these films on IMDB...

Old Buffy Fiction, Vamp Flicks & Revisits

I unearthed a notebook I bought when I was in middle school just for writing Buffy fan fiction and I decided I'm going to start typing up all the lame stories I attempted to write about on my computer. Some ideas aren't too pathetic but my writing is bland and I have no style at all. It's mostly short sentences with lack of details, I can't believe I wrote any of it at all it's that bad. But it is a good idea to revisit early work because it's the one way to make yourself feel better about your writing. You may think you write for shit, but go read something you did ten years ago, you'll realized you learned a few things between now and then. I know I have several different notebooks with stories in them; some are fan fiction and some of them are original pieces I made up. I used to have an affinity for writing all the time, sitting in class when I should be taking notes or paying attention instead of deciding what mystical doosy Buffy Summers would be getting up to.

Tonight, I watched a OK vampire film on FearNet called "Midnight Son". It seemed low-budget but the story was tolerable. I like when some writes a vampire script with a realistic mythos behind how the vampire got to be a vampire. I know real and myth don't belong in the same sentence but vampire tales get too "fantasy" for me. The movie was about a guy that suffered from a skin condition since he was a young boy and as an adult he works as a security guard. At this time, he starts feeling off, he keeps eating but nothing fills his stomach. He gets worried and sees his doctor who thinks he may have a rare form of being anemic because physically he is malnourished even if he just ate six frozen dinners. Slowly, the guy starts craving blood, first he makes his daily run to the butcher shop for his bucket o' blood. Then, he accidentally gets a taste of human blood and he turns full blown vampire. There its twists and turns of trying to have a relationship with a coke-addled chick and skeezy, drug-runner that supplies blood to the vampire dude before ultimately being turned into one. OOPS, SPOILER ALERT...guess I should have warned ya, huh? It's good for its hour and half run so if you see it somewhere (for free) just check it out. Also, check out FearNet, that's a pretty awesome site and so is Rue Morgue. I listen to their radio podcast once and a while, thanks to my brother Nick for exposing me to it.

I'm going to start revisiting shows I haven't seen in a long time...

Farscape - My dad and I would watch this show when I was a kid and it's been a really long time, probably a decade since I last seen an episode.
Roswell - I haven't watched this show all the way through since I got in DVD a few years back. I started re-watching it last week and I'll try to continue soon.
Battlestar Galactica - I have never watched this show before but I'd probably like it if I did. The seasons are watchable on Netflix so I'm considering it.
Witchblade - I started re-watching the first season months back and I need to continue on to the second season too.
Freddy's Nightmares - So I got a hold of this crappy TV series based off A Nightmare on Elm Street series, I watched the pilot which was boring but I need to watch the rest. It may have it's entertaining moments.

And I will continue watching all the stuff I am all ready and what's on air. I was going to mention on the vampire movie which vampire movies I particularly like: The Lost Boys, Subspecies Series & Vampire Journals, Vamp - I just saw this for the first time not long ago and was impressed by it, not a horrible 80s cheesy romp full of gore, it actually had substance - Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned - both really different versions of Anne Rice books but I like them both. I've never read an Anne Rice novel, ever and I'm a little surprised by that. In fact, I haven't even read Bram Stoker's Dracula yet, I should REALLY get on that. I love the 30s version with Bela Lugosi, that man has the creepiest, spindly hands I've ever watched on film.

I haven't been to sleep and my heads starting to pound so I better turn in soon. I did drink a cup of coffee today and I usually post on days I do drink coffee...hence the title of my blog.

Vamps are bad, bad, bad!

It's a weird place to be trapped, half way through books. I read the first three books in the Morganville Vampires series and it's a really good. I've seen people have it on their favorite list often so I decided to start reading them. The main character is a bright and smart young woman who I was excited in reading about because she isn't some meek waif that dominate loads of supernatural YA fiction. We need more Claire Danvers in the world then Bella Swans (although there are a few strengths I liked in her but they neglected to include most in the film versions)! I rather read about a female who is capable, fearful, and logical around vampires. Not every girl should go lush over a sparkly vampire (or a blood-thirsty one either). The series blends different characters who carry lives out in different levels - ghost/vampire, goth, rebel, smart chick - and seamlessly makes it all work. I feel like I could meet them in my life and be good friends with them. I also like how vampires are just bad, bad, bad, but can have depth for humane reasons. It's a better approach then most YA fiction I've read currently. I need to finish up the series because the progression is interesting how this invisible girl from nowhere becomes intertwined with all these odd supernatural problems and still maintains a life. It reminds me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with it's array of quirky dialogue and characters that each portray a different side of the stories of each book. Michael Glass is , by far, my favorite character in the series and I suppose I have a "thing" for the protective, nice guy.

Hoping to read through books I've left on my shelf, finish, and promptly place it back in it's holder. There are few I've read half way and then put away, forget about it, and realize it still needs to be completely read from cover to cover. Once done, I'll go back to the MV series.

Christmas is coming soon and there was light snow coverage this morning. Lucky me to go trotting through it! The tree is up and the lights are hanging on the gutter of the house. Now, if only I could think of presents to buy...if I had money. It's going to be a Tiny Tim Christmas if ever there was one in my household. I don't expect gifts and I don't care to receive them. I wish I could read people better so I know what to give, some people I know are hard to please and that pisses me off. I think I'll just make some desserts instead, I'm good at that and I enjoy the work in the kitchen.

Damned Halloween 50 percent off candy! I've become addicted to Crunch bars and I'm not a big fan of them...Sometimes I feel like a foodwhore. I thought of being a pastry chef, I think it would be great. I've watched those people doing cake challenges and whatnot on the Food Network, I could make fondant the rest of my life. I can't watch the Food Network anymore, it makes me hungry. I do love the how-do-they-make-it shows, especially the one hosted by Marc Summers, can't remember the title.

I sound like an obsessive, overweight weirdo...but I could talk food for ages.

Some random things I've enjoyed recently:

Misfits. U.K. series that I just sat and watched the two seasons on Hulu. I have seen constant fandom for this show and I didn't have a clue what it was about but I wanted to see what the fascination of it was so I went to IMDB and looked up the summary. Five juvies having to work at their community center as part of their sentencing and end up in the middle of a freak storm that zaps them with superpowers. The show could have been very bad, but from the first episode it's good. They have these powers and none of them want them - each episode something disastrous happens and the team uses their powers in some way to fix it. Kelly can hear people's thoughts, Curtis can go backwards through time, Simon can turn invisible, Alisha can make people really horny from touching her, and Nathan cannot die along with seeing ghosts.

What keeps the show from becoming horribly cliche (like it very well could have been) is the kids deal with the powers probably how I might if I ever got zapped in a lightning/hail storm. They don't take advantage of them and more or less look down on them because of the trouble they cause. Sort of similar to Skins, it depicts young adults as they really are and it's a character study show. I've noticed both shows never really overshadowed other characters but keeps them all separately important. Most shows I have watched tend to start out with every character equal and then some characters/couples/story lines get "front and center" while others turn into background noise. I really never see this with U.K. shows I've watched and I like that aspect.

Longview. A British band that had one album, Mercury, but a really good one. I first heard some of their tracks on the short-lived WB series, Tarzan but looked them up on Rhapsody later on and heard their entire album. They have an alternative pop/rock sound if I could label it anyway. There are upbeat songs and sweet ballads equally on the album. My favorite tracks are Further, Can't Explain, and If You Asked but the whole album is pretty golden. Usually use it as ambient music for when I am busy doing things. I was surprised they did not have follow-up and I'm not sure if they are even a band anymore. I did stumble upon a few of their videos. I assume they had little success in the U.K. because I never heard anything about them here in the U.S. except they were in an American television show.

Joe Jonas. I will admit I have Jonas Brothers albums and I do enjoy some of their tracks. I've also harbored a crush on Joe ever since I've heard of them though he did have some bad hair-dos (or is it hair-don'ts?) back then. So when he ventured to do a solo project I wondered what it would be and it ain't too shabby. His album, Fastlife, is some nice, upbeat dance music and his singles "See No More" and "Just in Love" are enjoyable but my favorite track is "Love Slayer", just love the idea behind it. I would love to see him act more, I saw the episode of Hot in Cleveland he appeared in. Besides, he seems to be comfortable as he is and willing to make fun of his self, I could see him in a comedy or an ensemble piece and fitting right in. Actually, it doesn't really matter what he was in, I just think he'd be good in it.

That's it really...oh, Happy Halloween since it is the day. I almost forgot! Wow, I should have talked about some scary movies or Halloween songs I like. I heard "The Blob" by the Five Blobs yesterday and it made me laugh. I like the movie but I don't remember there being some theme song for it. "Monster Mash" is another classic along with "Thriller", "House of a Thousand Corpses" by Rob Zombie is great. I love his music...I can never get enough of him or Alice Cooper. They know how to do spooky tunes really well.

What the hell am I doing?

Hmm...things I have been doing lately.

Reading a story a friend wrote. I love reading stories that friends have written, I feel like I'm getting to know them better. I enjoy it much more than trying to write a story on my own. Right now, I'm in the process of editing some of my stories and re-writing some of it. Been working on outlines mostly, I come up with many ideas that I never fully divulge into an actual story. I should become an editor, but I much rather be a special effects make-up artist or costume design. I have to learn about it first, I think I would enjoy it better than anything else I have done in my life.

I'm thinking of a blog entry where I comparethe first and second seasons of "The Vampire Diaries" because after watching the second season again, it just reminds me how flippin' different they are and I would actually mind pushing into the deeper canals of the character lines on the show. Oh and for everyone that thinks Matt Donovan should be killed off the show, a big F and U for you. I've heard a few times he should have been killed instead of Jenna. Well, ya know, at least Jenna had some kind of story arc on the show, but she's more a supportive player and parents don't last long on the show. (Watch out, Alaric!) He's like Elena's quasi-stepfather which is weird when I think about it.

I love Matt, he's one of my favorite characters and I've passionately stated this before. I love him in the book and I feel like throttling the writers for not giving him more of a storyline. For goodness sake's he's still in love with Elena and they don't think to use that ever? I mean, first season they used that a little against Stefan but Matt seems harmless against a vampire. Of course, now that he knows all about what's really going on, how long is going to stay out of it? Strangely, I can imagine Katherine using him for a chew toy, but I hope it never comes to that!

Zach Roerig is great as Matt and cute as hell. Supposedly he's played a bad guy in other work and I'd like to see that. In "Masquerade" when he was being a jerk to Tyler you could see that there, but he was under compulsion. LOVE HIM! Gah, I go fangirl...ugh I'm good.

Been reading horribly strange and rude comments on my youtube videos. People arguing in the comments of videos bothers me because it has nothing to do with the video or it's about how hot someone is in it. Stupid as hell. Really, only leave a comment if it means something people, otherwise you'll get my famous eye rolling.

buffy, how I remember thee...

I was just sitting here listening to Four Star Mary which got me thinking about the bronze which ultimately got me thinking about the television series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

My love affair started back when FX would show re-runs of the show, first during their evening spot (5:00-6:00 p.m.) and later in the morning (6:00 & 7:00 a.m.). The first episode I ever watched was "Who Are You?" which was an awful one for me. I remember thinking Buffy was such a slut while she was grinding up against Spike in the one scene. Little did I know that wasn't Buffy, but Faith, her evil counterpart. I disliked the show after seeing just a little and all I thought to myself was "Buffy sure is sleazy..." Probably a month goes by and I'm flipping channels when what do you know? "Buffy" is on again but this time was tuned it. She was strong, opinionated, and way better than I had last seen her. The second time I watched an episode, it was "The Gift" and that's probably one of the best episodes of the entire series. Period. That episode made me look at the show as something much deeper than I gave it credit for.

So every afternoon I came home from school and watched "Buffy" in my parent's room because I didn't have a TV in my room as a kid. Besides, the first TV I did have was black and white and only got about seven or eight channels you had to turn with a dial. I loved that little TV set, but back to my story here. I came home every day and while my Mom was cooking dinner I would sit and watch the slayer kick ass. Sometimes I was even late to dinner and my family could see I was becoming obsessed. I saw the later seasons first: five, six, and seven before seeing the earlier ones. That's probably why I've always been a Spike fan and not an Angel one, but I'll take about that later on. Once I had a newer TV (color and cable!) and a VCR I would record whatever episodes I could. I figured out how many seasons and episodes they were and went so far to buy a guide, unfortunately one without season seven included. I always love reading about extras!

I started buying the seasons when I was 14 or so and season four was the first one I purchased (though not the best season) followed by the fifth, sixth, seventh. The first was a Christmas present one year and finally I purchased season two and three together. As much as I love the show, I've never shared my thoughts about it because I rarely had many people I could talk about it with. I started writing fan fiction in school when I should have been paying attention to my work. That's when I actually talked to people who knew about it. Nikki, a girl who sat in front of me in my English class, was a fan because her older sisters grew up watching it. We used to always joke about Oz's "I mock you with my monkey pants!" line. I think she even wrote it in one of my yearbooks. The other person was a girl named Jessica in my math class who saw me writing my stories. I told her what they were about one day when she asked me and she read some of what I wrote. I don't know if she was being kind or what but she said she liked it. I assume she just watched the show sporadically. I'm sure there are more fans out there than I know and I'm starting to see that since I joined a forum and chatted up a few people about it. Oh, and a turned a former best friend of mine onto Buffy too, long time ago when we were good friends. We both drooled over Spike's hotness (I'm so lame!)...strangely enough she's a big fan of "Supernatural" now and that was my next big obsession after "Buffy".

I obsessed for four years and did move on to other shows...but that will always stick out as my first obsession. There were shows I liked before but never as adamantly. Sarah Michelle Gellar is a role model to me and a great actress. I'm happy to see her return to television since it has been many years since her role as Buffy Summers. I guess my issue of Spike versus Angel has to do with the fact I think Angel is a boring character. He's too sad and dull for me. At least Spike embodies more of how I see a vampire: ravenous, cocky, and tough. I never watched the spin-off "Angel" for that simple reason albeit I did watch season five for Spike. And it was something to watch after "Buffy" ended.

Maybe I'll do some character profiles and talk about why I like (or don't like) certain parts of their personality/choices/progression.

This was on the way to Mall of America in Minnesota. I love scenic pictures and I took many of them. The sky was gorgeous that day and built-in cliff foliage made it better.

Hockey is a great sport to watch live. I've only been to one game, but it was insanely loud and the crowd has such an energy. That's one sport I'd go see all the time if I could.

These are the Gossip Girl books I'm trying to plow through at the moment. I'm second to last, "Only In My Dreams", but after I'm done with this stack there are 3 more books in the series! I've enjoyed this series more than expected, but I do hate the rich, stuck-up Blair Waldorf. She's awful. I'm thinking about checking the show out and seeing if it's worth watching but I'll stick with the books for right now.

books, bromance, and broken coffee cups

I looked down at my coffee cup the other day and there was a huge chip in it. I've never seen a chipped last before, shattered - yes, and brand new - yes. I think the chipping has to be me banging the edge of the cup against the glass rotating plate in the newer (smaller) microwave because I'm not used to the height difference (or size difference). I think it would have been cooler if it actually made the cup leak but I guess I'm not that lucky to wish for a really broken coffee mug. Now you all think I'm strange, don't you?

There are some new Supernatural fiction out (coming out) that I need to read. I have the first three books they released years ago. I had no idea if they bothered making any more and I certainly enjoyed the ones I've read so I am ready for some new ones. Borders is going out of business, maybe I can get a deal on one of the books there? They never carry what I'm looking for in store and then I have difficulty finding it in store. I could just be stupid and not have any sense of direction but I think the system is whack there! I ain't too sad about them closing...obviously.

I've been watching the Glee Project even though I don't watch Glee (don't know how that figures...) and I love both Cameron and Damian. They have a fantastic bromance that I joke about every time I watch a new episode. I both love their voices too. They both share that old crooner voice like Michael Buble or Frank Sinatra but Cameron's a little lighter while Damian a bit deeper and rockier with his voice. If they don't win, they should definitely find a place in the entertainment industry because they have talent and a slice of humble pie. But mostly, they got that killer bromance!!! It's funny me using that word since I dislike it very much, but it just is what the duo is. They are that great I'm willing to use that word.

I was sitting down looking through one of many books I have laying about and I was so relieved that I was reading something I really fucking felt like reading. I always dreaded being assigned books to read whether it's several chapters or one passage. The only time I have passion for reading is when I am fully involved and/or invested in what I'm reading. I like when I get suggestions or books to borrow from friends/family. My aunt gave me a box of Alex Cross novels by James Patterson I would like to take a stab at reading all the way through to the last one. I think borrowed books let me know what kind of books people I know like and I think it speaks volumes of what they like because it's all about interests. I read lots of YA books but mostly fantasy/science fiction/horror because that's what I obsess over. But, I'm not trendy about it. I'll be roped into reading some books that way (Need to look into the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, they sound reasonably interesting, doesn't mean I will be seeing the movie they won't shut up about...) but I just mostly go by cover then summary before reading it. And not to be pretentious but 9 out of 10 times I like the book better than screen adaptation. Sometimes the movie tells the story better by expanding or contracting some of the details or side plots. It's been hard to find books to get attached to and I'm always looking for new ones.

Reminds me I need to buy the last Vampire Diaries book, Midnight because Damon is human in it! I was a surprised with that happening at the end of Shadow Souls. Boy, that book was long, as in it took me forever to read. It felt like it could have been summarized in like twenty chapters but it went way past that. I just need a satisfying conclusion so maybe that's what I get. Cross ma fingers, hopin' for the best!

i'm taking a bite out of Teen Wolf & Stiles!

As much as I am an 80s whore, I still haven't seen the 1985 classic Teen Wolf starring Michael J. Fox (though it is cued up in on Netflix for future viewing). I've seen bits of it on television and wasn't too impressed, if I want to enjoy Fox I'd cue up Back to the Future instead. I do like Supernatural premises if you couldn't guess by looking around on my blog so it's probably just the cheese I very well expect it to be. It will be viewed all in good time (I've got Camelot to finish watching first!). Oh, I have seen Teen Wolf Too with Jason Bateman and that's bad so I have to believe that the first film is just a slightly better film. On to the segue - I have been watching the MTV series which I thought at first was just a movie for the network until I noticed it said "new series" and then I just said "OK, fine, I'll give that a chance".

This show has been getting rather wide receipted reviews which not only surprised me but pushed my interest further to check out the series. The plot lines are OK, somewhat weak but perceptive to the tween/young adult audience. Scott is your basic main character whom I've yet to see break out of his wolf-bound secret, but will probably be more diverse after the lush drama is dispensed about his hairy side. Allison is perhaps too perfect in her slight build and who is accosted by every boy on the show like the only pretty girl magnet in the school (never sure why they tend to do that to every nice girl on a show anyway...) but she's a tier above Lydia since she's just annoying. I do understand that's her character , the Queen Bee, the uptight fashionista that desperately seeks to be on the highest pedestal in the high school hierarchy. I like Jackson so far, I suppose he's the mean jock, but he comes across as a troubled teen and I connect to his plight stronger than Scott's own. Besides he's getting bullied worse than anyone else on the show, poor guy needs to be cut a break! Derek Hale is interesting as a mentor wolf and I wish they would play up on that side of Scott instead of the romance one.

Hands down, my favorite character on the show is Stiles (played by Dylan O'Brien), Scott's best friend and the werewolf aficionado of the group. Not only is he played brilliantly with deadpan and over-the-top humor but a strong, helpful hand in his friend's recent misfortunes. To me, they could have wrote his character off as being the best friend that says something stupid before running off, but he's the only one logically devising ideas and plans to protect not only himself but everyone around him (case in point, hitting Jackson in the face for suggesting bringing his father, the sheriff, to his death by giant, alpha wolf). When Scott explained he was bit by a wolf, Stiles read up and prepared himself with the reality. He didn't blindly think it was awesome, and that would have bothered me to bits, but he took the smarter approach. He reminds me a tad of Randy Meeks from the Scream series, the guy who knows everything and is using his knowledge the best way for the situation. Stiles keeps me tuned in every Monday otherwise I may have left off after the second episode. I can't stand the "what if" romance crap, he's turning into a freaking wolf, falling in love not an option.

I love the adult supporting cast as well. JR Bourne (Ginger Snaps Back. 13 Ghosts, Selling Innocence) plays Allison's father who is also a werewolf hunter along with his sister werewolf hunter played by Jill Wagner (Blade: The Series, Wipeout!) and Stiles father, the Sheriff, is played by none other than Linden Ashby (Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil: Extinction). The cast does a good job all around and the special effects make-up isn't dreadfully corny and the Alpha wolf is somewhat intimidating and ferocious. I do hope Jackson becomes a werewolf hunter too, looks like he's headed in that direction though the scratches on his neck say other wise. Could he possibly be a wolf from a scratch and not a bite? I thought those went hand-in-hand...I'll guess I'll just wait and see.

If you haven't seen Teen Wolf, it's worth a look compared to the crap on MTV nowadays. It's Monday nights at 8/9c but they tend to repeat the aired episodes throughout the week, usually late.

Gaw! It's been almost a month since I've posted! How can this be so? Sorry, I've been busy the last month watching the non-stop Spike Star Wars saga marathons. And, guess what? There's another one this Fourth of July weekend! Another reason to find creepy meanings behind Yoda's senility!

Harry Potter's great legacy completes itself in 15 days and it's starting to sink in for me. The series of books and films have been a wonderful staple in my friendships for the past ten years. Every book launch and midnight show my group of friends and I would trek out and stay up all night for. We'd play games, tell jokes, and eat Bernie Bott's Every Flavor Beans (and I have gotten my share of booger flavored ones, but grass is worse IMO, oh wait, sardine is just disgusting). It'll be a shock if I don't tear up a bit at the final show, but I'm not positive if I''m even going. I usually not the one buying the tickets so I'll probably need to be looking into that soon... It has been a long ride and half my life so I can accompany much happy times to the bespectacled wizard. I'm not sure what group outings we'll do instead...maybe a book club? Always wanted to try one of those.

I want MTV to play more video blocks and less "16 and Pregnant". I don't think it's great that my generation gets bad pregnancy shows instead hours and hours of streaming music videos. Hell, I'd like VH1 Classic to play more video blocks. Only time they do is when no one is awake unless you are me who sleeps little because I'm an insomniac most days. I've become obsessed with this British band "Breathe" who became popular during the late 80s-early 90s era. They have these gorgeous ballads, some songs I've seen on VH1 Classic Totally 80s video blocks. I'm surprised they had minor success considering how powerful some of their songs are, they could have been hard hitters with the best. I've only heard a few songs but I'm going to check out their albums when I get a chance.

Oh boy, here comes the heat. I'm not very certain if I love summer or hate it. The warm sun always feels nice on my skin, but that dewy sheet of humidity that sheen it is unbearable. Summer is the time to get away from life, live in a mystery. It's vacation time, people. I'll probably go somewhere even against my will to say hidden from the public. It's a time to catch up on reading, my favorite thing. I'll spend half the day out on the porch or in the back yard on a lawn chair. Most people go to the beach, but I never do, personally never been one with laying half naked in front of a bunch of strangers.

I've been very angry all day and I'm not positive why. I've been avoiding people because I get snappy and say mean things. It's not biological, that's for sure. I don't have a bipolar disorder, I usually carry the same temperament always. There are things that have been going on that have been waning on me and is possibly causing this weird personality decay. I don't like being angry or mean, I like to be a sweet, caring person as much as possible. I've been hitting breaking points lately where everything that's being kept up is unraveling faster than a spool of thread. My mood has to be from copious amounts of events that have made me worry with no reason so it's starting to piss me off. I get that.

The Vampire Diaries is on hiatus for summer and season 2 has wrapped. I've enjoyed this season and I have to agree with some about too many plot focuses and not enough character focuses. Next season I can only hope for it. Some of my other shows still have finales to air. Supernatural is suppose to be tomorrow night but it said the last episode they will air on Sunday night instead. I hate when they move it, there must be sports on. Damn you sports! Make It or Break It is on Monday night, a full two hours - go Max & Payson! Oh, Supernatural's finale is two hours long too, how could I forget! It's odd considering none of the others are and it's not the last season. Oh well, more Sam and Dean and Cass and Bobby...and potentially Crowley. I've become confused with that show, I feel like an idiot but I just feel the story lines have become crowded and I don't know why the angels plot is still there. I don't know, I could go into a long rant on my feelings of it, but I'll spare anyone the trouble today. Besides, I just don't feel like it.

I watch Breakout Kings on Sunday now. It's like most typically cop-like dramas, but I have to say Jimmi Simpson is what keeps me interested in it. I love his character and the comedic bridge he builds across the episodes. I've seen the guy in countless roles already and he typically has played characters like the one on BK before, but it suits him. Ghost Adventures is still kickin', I missed last week's episode because I forget, complete fail on my part. I could probably find it online and watch it. Also watching NCIS: LA on Tuesday because Deeks is my boy. Yes, I'm an Eric Christian Olsen fan even if he plays a douche in almost every role. I really liked him in the movie Write or Wrong. Less douche-y, more nice guy there. He plays a nice guy on the show though too so I'm not saying he doesn't there.

This summer I'll probably watch MTV's Teen Wolf being the 80s fan I am, although I have a feeling this will be much different from the Michael J. Fox version. Pretty Little Liars, maybe and I want to see 9 Lives of Chloe King. I never watched PLL before but they had a marathon on before the last finale and I was just sitting and watching it all day because I couldn't find anything better to do. I've been watching a buttload of television lately, I'm ready to take a break.

Oh, summer hiatus is about four months long. Nothing but strawberry daiquiris, lots of sun, hanging with friends, and exercise. And reading, lots of books to be read this summer. Maybe a trip somewhere too if timing is just right. I hope everyone enjoys there summer, I know I will try my best. Anyone got any good plans, let me know!

I'm 21 years old and I grew up a kid mostly in the 90s and early 2000s. Now, I'm about to say something that everyone has admitted all across the internet in many different ways. Kid's television programming is awful today and I feel very sorry to those who don't get to experience better shows.

My complaint to shows that dominant today's channels are they radiate the wrong messages. First, they use all this cool technology prompting kids that they need a cell phone just as much as Hannah Montana or ICarly. Second, I just find the humor crass and boring and it makes me think producers and writers alike are trying to "dumb down" younger generations. Isn't bad enough that most young people can't write normal sentences anymore because of texting and AIM? Third, all these new kid shows are about people being famous which can be spun as a way to inspire kids to do what they dream BUT old shows were just kind of normal. Suburbia with hijinks or a selling point for a story line. Kid's shows used to show KIDS BEING KIDS. Where the hell did that go?

The most important element to me is the lack of FUN in newer shows. I was watching old clips of "All That" which was one of my favorite shows on Nick and I still love it. I realize every skit carried some ridiculous stunt or over-the-top theme, but there was fun in what the cast was doing and it just looks like they are having fun. (Well, except they are on national television and get paid for it.) Even animated series like "X-Men" or "Spider-Man" had some mature story lines for cartoons.

Everything is very different now. I don't think a 12-year-old needs a cell phone. They should be outside riding their bike, like I did years ago. I don't know, it's not really that I think my childhood was better, it just it's so very different from how kids grow up now. I can't imagine being a parent now. And I really needed to vent that because it's pretty awful that it is so bad. Guess we don't even need television anymore when the internet is massive.

I'm hoping some of my other favorite Nick and Disney shows come on DVD some day. I know many have been and I heard Teen Nick or something was re-airing certain shows for a late night block. I remember "All That" was being played a few years back when the N was still around. Really would love that show on DVD and it really deserves a proper release.

Also, Josh Server was and will be always flippin' awesome in my book. I had a crush on him when I was a kid and I still think he's cute. I ain't the only one, most comments I've read are about how everyone had a crush on him and thinks he is a "hottie". He had a great energetic and physical capacity with comedy while on "All That" and it's crazy he stayed on as long as he did. Rather surprised he didn't do more after because he has talent, but maybe he wanted something different. I know he came back for the "All That" reunion and has done a few bit roles on other Nick TV shows. (Which reminds me of how the Nick studios don't exist anymore...) I loved him on "Figure It Out" and got slimed so much on there! I still can't think of Nickelodeon without the image of LOTS and LOTS of green slime.

I don't see why every slight review I come across for S. Darko is negative. I've watched it several times and I enjoy it. Albeit, I don't understand the whole plot very well. In fact, there may very well be many plot holes in the film that never get smoothed out. I enjoy it for it's style and cinematography, soundtrack, and odd characters. Nothing really develops over the period of the film yet I never felt I left empty-handed. Has nice dialogue pieces in a few scenes, rather existential in nature, but it is what Donnie Darko was like. I never really understood what the plot of that film was either. I do understand the basics, but it's just creepy the whole way through like a never-ending dream. Both movies are set in a fugue state and actually best watched in the middle of the night. It's like a late night movie, something you can go to sleep with on your mind.

To me, these films just set all these things up that were never to occur which basically exes out the last hour or two you spent watching. The whole time travel spiel is complicated in my opinion and can be argued for decades to come. I hate getting into debates on the Back to the Future trilogy because logic can be argued endlessly on the discontinuity of it all. At this point, I'll take it as it is. Sometimes I want to think on what I'm watching and other times I just want to drift in my mind. These films allow me to follow the flow they procure from each scene to the next and just let time take me on its journey whether it's end game truly defines anything.

I just want to be entertained, I don't even want to compare each film to the other. One was a cult movie and the other a straight to DVD sequel, shouldn't that tell you something? There's no way in hell it's going to compare considering the pedestal one puts Donnie Darko on and than sticks a smaller, almost novella in a vague vein of the source material against it. It won't compare so enjoy it as it is. If was irrelevant maybe someone wouldn't be very harsh...but who cares, right?

Still trying to figure out how I feel about Ed Westwick. I like him in almost everything I've watched him in. He's strange and has a very rough American accent. I love his true British one too, they sound very seperate, but equally appealing. He's in S. Darko and I like his character seem like a rip on James Dean or something, but it works just for him there. Would 50s greaser be a popular look in the mid-90s? Sideburns alone rocked the decade and that bad bowl-shaped haircut. What a conundrum.

Have I ranted well enough yet? Have I bored a random visitor who merely wanted peruse and not here me wailing about this crap? Well, I love this crap and I take pity on the cheesy and underrated and under-appreciated things. I like, scratch that, love the little things that no one gives a shit about. I'll continue to seek random and weird things to publicly illicit my love for and I don't have to care what others think because no one even reads my stinking blog!

S. Darko is not the worse movie experience I've had (Bloodrayne will never compare to anything else *shutters*) and it's not the best, but it's a movie I'd revisit in the middle of the night. Preferably when my mind is clear and slowly buzzing to get a good night's sleep. I think I need a caffeine drip soon. Just that we are clear, I'm not a huge caffeine-head, but I get my share when I need it. I'll think of something better to talk about next entry.

cutting your own hair rates crazy

So, I've cut my hair twice in the same month and each time shorter. First, it was just a bob then I totally hacked it down to a pixie cut. I love it now, very short hair which I've never had in my life. My family just freaked out calling me insane for taking the chop job for myself. I don't really care and I wouldn't be doing it myself if I didn't have complete confidence behind it. Also, I really wanted all my hair gone, I needed something very different and now I have it. I LOVE IT. Plausibly my parents could rule this in favor of a mental breakdown, but I'm thinking pretty clear on this one. I feel more feminine and pretty with short hair now. I've wanted it short for a long time, last summer was the first time I commented that I wanted to try really short hair. I am happy with what I did and I feel better now.

Being Human series 3 just ended and Mitchell is dead. At least, I believe he is. I wonder how they'll bring him back. He's a seriously dark character and I've never really thought that through before. I always liked him and Annie and George. I've never been particular about Nina, she's always been a bit cruel to me. She's great to George though, he's such a sweet character. Well, can't wait for series 4.

I need to read the last Vampire Diaries book, but I have yet to purchase it. I can't finish my GG books until I finish that series. Once I'm on one order it's impossible to move on until I'm done with that series. It's an odd, OCD type of behavior I'm aware, but it's just the way I operate.

My 21st birthday is around the corner and there is no excitement in me about it, is that possible?

Popped by for a post in between watching old Saturday Night Live re-runs and no I don't mean ones from like two weeks ago. I'm watching 90s material here. I thought the early and late 90s had strong casts, the middle years were trying to find their ground in between stellar casts. Gosh, it reminds me how much I love Jimmy Fallon. He could never keep a straight face in any of his sketches and that's basically what I would watch for if he was in one. I don't think he's kept a straight face on any of his "Late Night" interviews. The Cow Bell one he definitely had his hand up on his mouth the entire time. I've always liked Jimmy...except the films he's made, those are awful. They just weren't that good even if you put him in a scene with Oscar winners...he'd probably be laughing with his hand over his face. Loved the album he released "Off the Bathroom Wall" I believe it's called and it has some really funny bits on it. He's a real goofball but that's what makes him likable to me. Did he ever get all the Saved by the Bell cast together for a reunion? That would have been sweet.

Fixed up a new layer with the odd template's blogger has. I didn't want to bugger it too much, but it looks okay. I always make everything really dark because I like it that way. It's either really dark or really light, stark contrasts.

Really, really excited that Henry Cavill gets to be the new Superman! Yeah! Woot! I had a fit when I saw the Entertainment Weekly cover he was on. I think squealing may have been involved. Zack Snyder is slated to direct so I'm hoping it'll be good. I really love his remake of Dawn of the Dead (CJ!) and adaptations of The Watchmen and 300. I'm not a big comic fan but he certainly is true to source material and that's what fans love. Can't wait to see how Cavill's Clark Kent will be!

I finished re-reading Stephenie Meyer's The Host for the first time since I bought it over two years ago. It was sitting on the shelf for a long time and I kept thinking I should read it again. I decided to do this after watching a few fan trailers on Youtube that piqued my interest in the story again. With remembering a little from the first read, I enjoyed it more the second time through. I can say right now that I think that book is a thousand times better than all four Twilight novels she wrote and science fiction is more her place. I love the idea (not that it hasn't been done often already) and the characters. I have to say Meyer's always makes one character I absolutely love and keeps me interested in. The battered female is a staple in both the Twilight Saga and The Host and that always bothered me. I think Bella was weak about many things but Wanderer or Mel in this book starts out kind of battered and learns to be a stronger person. Partly because of the human still in there and Ian's help for her to find her own voice. I heard there is talk of this being made into a film, but I hope it's just rumors because the appeal for me would be completely ruined.

Vampire Diaries is out until April 7...why such long hiatuses? Supernatural will get it soon as well. Friday's episode was hilarious though. Misha got killed, little surprised by that. Him (as himself) was awesome, best part of the show. Complete contrast to the serious nature of Castiel. Lovely...

I've got to go buy Shadow Souls and read it! I'm kind of interested to see where Elena/Damon dynamic goes. Read somewhere Smith wanted them together in the end, no clue if that's true. Matt's there too! They really need to get him back into the show. I'm Team Damon on the show (who isn't really?) but I'm such a Matt fanatic I love him in the book and show and I really want him to get some bigger part in it. I know it's difficult in an hour block to get like ten different characters stories all in...but I want more Matt! I'm more of a Tyler/Caroline fan. Speaking of Tyler, 180 of awesomeness on the show! Can't wait for his character's return. I'm starting to get sick of Katherine. I know that she's there to stir the pot and fuck things up for everyone, but when she's there I feel like it detracts from characters developing because it's like getting junk punched to the past. I love the history stuff but man, it just shows her being more a bitch. Everyone likes that though. One thing is for sure now, Damon ain't falling for it anymore. He totally pushes her aside in the last episode. Classic...I just laughed my ass off. Just means Katherine is going to have to get creative, huh?

I just finished watching The Last Song and Miley Cyrus' mouth is odd. I don't know why, maybe it's the overbite of her teeth because it looks like an overbite. It just bothered me when I was watching it. Also, she has the posture of a 15-year old boy, she walked like that at least. The movie was as expected as any Nicolas Sparks' one goes - love, loss, and happiness. I was bored and was browsing Netflix, it was up there so I clicked "Play". I felt it was too long at an hour and forty-two minutes. It wasn't as long as The Notebook which I snored half way through it. Greg Kinnear was good in his supportive role.

I watched this movie Exam before it and that was very good. It was a little independent psych-thriller from the U.K. It's your basic "stick a bunch of people in a room and let all there little secrets come out because they are forced to save their life". That had close to the same running time and it was 10 times more convincing with it's story and characters. Sorry, Miley, I just ain't believin' you as a sad, angry teenager. Perhaps too much Hannah "Insta-gag" Montana has done me in. (She's probably a really nice gal though so I'm not going to be really mean because she doesn't deserve it. She probably gets enough crap from the internet.)

Should be asleep right now and I've manage to post a lot this month. Something to do with my lack of a normal life, I think. I'm starting to think being locked up in a room for 80 minutes with 7 strangers is a real dream come true. Oh, Russian Roulette, here I come!

Really...better go. Hands going numb, sleep is required for survival. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......

Random Annoyances

You know, I just posted a day ago but I am compelled to write a little more. There have been certain occurrences in my life recently that I have believed to set something in motion. I don't know if it will be positive or negative, but I hope it helps me. Desperately, I want to see my only two friends (I know I am lonely and loser-like, sue me), but I never do and I feel it is because they don't want to spend time with me. I can write it off as other things but I have to believe if they truly wanted to spend their time with me they would find a way.

Who cares how things are done, as long as they are done? Why is it impossible for others to care about other people or themselves for that matter? What the fuck kind of world was I born into??? I realize some things get better over time and others get worse. Robert Frost predicted it would end in either fire or ice. I have a feeling ice will suffice. We ALIENATE each other and use little poisonous devices to avoid others while making ourselves feel important. Am I the only one who sees this because it doesn't affect me? I know the minute it slips in my hands I'll be a tech zombie and that's a road I don't want to travel.

I'm watching "The Rules of Attraction" and boy, that Dawson Leery is much better not as Dawson Leery. And for those not following, I'm referring to James Van Der Beek. That's not the good part though, Ian Somerhalder is. On the IMDB's summary page they call his character Paul a bisexual but he seems just to be homosexual. There isn't a moment where he's interested in a female, in fact he seems to snarl at them. (Pause for laughter) A weird image to see in my mind. He's just striking. He shows up in a scene and I just zone in to him. He could be standing far back in the frame with two really hot guys standing on both sides of him and a freaking ficus covering the front of him, but I'd still be draw to him. It's weird, but watching the movie makes me do this. I've seen him in many different roles and never have I felt that way about his character. Gosh, I am one strange lady... I saw Marco Polo on Hallmark the other day and wondered what kind of accent he was using...it would come and go. I would think Italian because wasn't Polo Italian? I never see the entire four hours, but I think I can watch it on Netflix. Thanks to Netflix I've had opportunity to watch some of his movies. One I really recommend is "Wake" which is a very light-hearted and funny film. He plays a vet in the film too!

Really Should Be Doing Something Productive

It is a new year and according to the Mayans our last in existence. Yippee! The end of 2010 was blurry and sad for me. I did not enjoy it the way I intended to, but even the best made plans get botched. The only importance to the holidays is family and when family is splinted, say by an event, it becomes empty. I feel like the past few years no one really cares about Christmas and what it's suppose to be other than Jesus' birthday which it isn't by the way. So, I sat at home on Christmas Eve laying about and having a few drinks which made me feel incredibly good being by myself for once. Christmas Day was brighter: amazing food from Grams, fun card games (won Sevens probably close to 10 times and I really stink at card games!), and a few presents. I got a watch because I'm very anal about time and not having one for several years grates me a little. New Year's Eve was spent with friends: food, games, and presents again! I'm usually the happiest when I least expect it. I blame my brother, Nick for that really...

I need to finish reading Gossip Girl, they keep sitting on my shelf taunting me to finish reading them. I kind of miss the sassy(did I just say that?) dialogue, stoned jocks, and bitchy drunk girls (aka Blair Waldorf) - oh forgot to include bulimic somewhere in there. Honestly, I thought I had problems (and I do) but they are not social problems. Nothing from my environment is affecting my problems, it's more like my mind responding to things in my environment. Wow, that might actually be redundant. Basically, I'm a non-smoking, socially anxious yet possibly self-destructive individual that's keen to reach out to the world and fix it and some of its people in the process. I'm just stuck at the "fixing me" part. I know there is a person somewhere in me and I know they are struggling to get out but they can't find the right door.

OK, I need to finish Gossip Girl , but Nightfall sits atop it with 20 pages (give or take) to finish. Not to mention there is a follow-up to it. My first impressions were so-so about the book and I could see why fans love the original series published back in the early 90s. The story was cohesive in those books and easier to follow. In Nightfall, I felt like I was thrown into a complete different world that the original books placed the audience in. Right away the use of technology threw me because chronologically if the original books were set at the time of their actual release and these books follow shortly after those (possible a week or so...) there wouldn't have been cell phones. It would have been 1991 or 1992. But, I understand these are being set-up to new readers and old ones, and we have to change with the changing times. The other problem was the story was convoluted with mystical side. It is not well explained until way into the second half of the book. Up before that point I kept having a furrow brow wondering what the hell is going on in Fell's Church. Matt and Meredith - my two favorite characters have small roles but they still dominate the scenes they appear in. Matt especially in his protection for Elena (which, let's face it, isn't used at all on the show) when they are in the Old Wood. If only his strength were found more on the show, maybe in the future (of the show) I will be pleasantly surprised.

What I liked about it - I found out what really is going on in Damon's head. Very small role in the original books so it's logical to see why he loves Elena. He is a bastard in many parts of the book even without possession (spoiler) and I guess I'm twisted because I wouldn't mind seeing some more of that in the show too. I know he was mean for half the first season and it's nice he's all "one with his humanity" but when he spikes with hatred...it's meaningful. There was an interview I listened to where Ian Somerhalder (*sigh*) mentioned a scene in one of the books where Damon goes in a store and just compels and charms these women, but I was confused because I hadn't read any part like that. Well, I think it came from Nightfall because there is lots of Damon POV going on and it's a good starting point for playing that character.

Time to send off. I've got reading to do and sleep. Can't forget that...

the holidays are upon us...

Follow me, I've already got a few cups of coffee in me at the time being and I have a paper due tomorrow that I'm in the process of writing, so like any easily distracted individual I've dropped everything to post. I haven't posted in a month! Christmas will be here soon and my term is almost over at school so I'm looking forward to time off to really get down to it and read some books I haven't got to. I just did some cleaning up on my shelves and I hope there's a place that could use some books to take them. I hate just throwing books out, I want to donate them to a place that will put them to use.

I heard from my father yesterday when we went out to eat, we weren't having a proper Christmas at his family's house because my aunt told my Grandma there was no reason to have it! I was upset by this because since my grandma passed on my mother's side and she was the one who initiated celebrating, all we've done is eat sandwiches or pizza and that is dull! I don't want both sides to become un-Christmas like! I love getting to eat some polish food and talk with everyone, I hardly see them ever during the year and this is the one chance I do get to see them! I really hope these plans change because when my life doesn't seem so bad, everything around it starts falling apart.

I spent a week ago before finals sick, horribly sick. I had the flu, then a kidney stone, and a urinary tract infection. I never took that much medication or stayed in bed as long and I could not wait for it to pass me by. It set me back in classes but thankfully, I have some time this week to study and read before my last of my finals. It's total shit out lately so I'm basically trapped in the house for half of the week. I have Christmas shopping to tend to the next couple of days and studying really and then Christmas. It's looking okay from here on, but my luck doesn't always shine good on me.

I just finished watching series 3 of Skins on Netflix. I'm watching it as they add it to instant viewing so I'm a little behind. I have to say after seeing series 1 and 2, this one was not as good. Most of the reviews I've read have resonated the same thought and I can understand why. The whole show is suddenly centered around Tony's younger sibling, Effy (those real name is Elizabeth, so I can't see why she has that nickname...why not Liz or other countless versions?) Maybe it's an English thing I don't understand. Basically the love triangle bullsh** is what I'm pointing at here. Every episode lead back to the love triangle when it's suppose to centered the the episode's titled character. I will say I love Cook, he's a wild-ass kid but I think he's just another one of those misunderstood fellows who isn't a complete knob-head, but acts like it all the time. He reminds me of Chris from the first two series, but let's hope Cook doesn't meet an end like Chris. I loved his character too.

Really, I hope the Effy-centric stuff lays off a little but reviews for series 4 put her in the middle again. She's just not that interesting to me and all the boys want her and I don't see why. It's like why anyone would want Kirsten Stewart's interpretation of Bella Swan from "Twilight". She is dreadfully boring in the movies and neurotic. She always is neurotic in those film's stuttering and pulling her hair...but that's off topic. Cook is great, wish I had a friend like him and JJ too. They did take the gender bits far with lesbians this series, that was hardly touched on in the first two. It was nice to see an openness there. Really believe my friends would enjoy this show even though not of them have seen it. I recommend anyone reading this to see the show. You can watch the first three series in streaming on Netflix and they are worth the time. Lovely character studies for young adults. It pries the door back on what really happens in the teen years, the uncertainty and experimentation in a colorful and fun backdrop.

Recently I've seen clips for an American version on Skins to air on MTV in January. I'm not really pleased with this since I love the English version very much, but I might watch to see what they do. It'll probably be like series 3 and 4, really trite and stereotypical. They are also doing this with Being Human another favorite of mine on the SyFy channel. I'm peeved about both and I'm not looking forward to that. Why remake it? Why not air the freaking episodes of the show that's already been created? Complaining is completely useless at this point so I'm just shutting up and putting up with it. I tune in for an episode but probably tune out for the rest.

Everything I watch is on hiatus for the month...ah...I don't know what to do! Oh, yeah, read...DUH. Maybe I'll finally finish the Gossip Girl series I'm half way through or so. Maybe I'll make a gingerbread house with my mother this year, maybe I'll finally see my friends soon and stop moping about how I never see them....I'll just wait in see.

pine nuts, pet peeve, and tea

Chris Pine is part of my layout now because I'm currently "pining" over him. Did you know his fans are called Pine Nuts? It's goofy but cute...why do we come up with silly names for stuff we love? Anyway, I heard that on his Jimmy Kimmel interview recently (I think) that's what they call themselves. So, I guess I'm a moderate Pine Nut.

I was excited when I saw my first "real" comment in my last post! Thanks to Caitlin for a very kind comment on my blog! No one ever leaves me substantial comments (except from Vinnie in My So-Called Life post), and I don't really care if anyone does because I'm just ranting about stuff on here. But to take the time to say you like my blog or a topic I posted on is wonderful. I would have checked out your blog, if it weren't private (or that's what Blogger told me!). So, THANK YOU!

Today I felt like talking about a weird pet peeve of mine. I freak out from weird, stumpy fingers. I know, bizarre, but it's true. Usually on guys stumpy fingers gross me out. My father has hands like that which creep me out, some celebs I like such as Keanu Reeves hands scare me. I, myself, have long fingers so I don't have to look at them and be grossed out. I don't know why I have this pet peeve, but maybe my life just has to do with it. My brother has had messed up hands for years, he used to crack them all the time and the knuckles have enlarged to an unusual size. It's almost like caveman hands. He suffers from poor circulation too because his hands get so white during the winter season. Now, if I met someone with hands like these I wouldn't run away screaming, but I'd probably give their hands a stare down.

The other thing I wanted to discuss is tea. I am a huge fan of tea and I'm always up for trying new ones however I only really like a few so far. I like black and green tea, mint tea, lemon tea, and pomegranate tea. Always looking for new ones so if anybody has any suggestions on kinds I should try, let me know! I've heard of earl grey tea but I have no idea what that is, but I don't think I've had that.

It really is late and I should be sleeping because I have class in the morning and I could use some alertness. Damn me for drinking caffeinated beverage tonight! I'm talking about books again because I think the dominating part of my life revolves around them.

I've taken a chance and started reading the Gossip Girl book series. I have never had an interest in reading rich kids living in the Upper East Side or given sympathy to those that blow 3,000 dollars at Barney's in a day. But, there is something about these books I like and that what makes it a guilty pleasure for me. I had previously read a spin-off series Von Ziegesar has written based on the Jenny Humpfrey character from the GG series. That spin-off is titled The It Girl series and I still don't know why it is called that. I enjoyed that series the same way I'm enjoying the GG one. It all has to do with the relationships between friends and between significant others. Having money to spare is one thing but there is no self-gratification from it. Sure, if I had money I would splurge on those days of despair and PMS.

It really is all about knowing what's real and what people want, Von Ziegesar is good at this, but sometimes the plot starts to become obvious so I'm hoping for curveballs. Oh, and reading the series puts me off loser habits which consist of smoking some kind of drug and drinking alcohol. The kids in here drinking twenty times more than me (but then again I am diabetic so drinking isn't smiled upon by my endocrinologist) and showing up to events stoned. Is that really a proper message for young teens to learn? I know the books became controversial about these habits being displayed for an impressionable age group and I have to wonder myself. The book does not focus heavily on this so I think it's safe to look beyond that to the character dynamics because that's what's important in this series.

The real reason I am bothering at all was my friend, Sarah lent me all the books because she had them sitting, collecting dust, and I needed to get my feet wet in new fiction. It is good to read something out of my comfort zone occasionally and this series is really something I would never pick out on my own to read. Sarah has about 12 of the books in the series so I just borrowed and started in. I want to judge the books quite severely but right now I'm willing to overlook my pettiness.

Next - Both The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural have begun their seasons and am enjoying them so far. Supernatural's premiere last Friday had me raising eyebrows because I wasn't sure what to expect this season. Kripke isn't at the helm anymore and it makes me wonder if the show will go off the deep end. BUT, it didn't. I loved this new idea of the Winchester boys working separately and how there are other hunters in the family. Samuel's return from the dead is unexplainable to me and totally fishy. Something else has to be going on there. Felling sorry for Dean AGAIN. Will he become his kick-ass self again? I hope, man, do I hope. After the episode I was so FRICKIN EXCITED that new promos had been filmed and now I don't have to look at the same season two shots! Just look at this video here:

Did they finally put money into something new? YIPPEE! My dad made a comment how it looks like they pasted Jared's head on a smaller person, but I actually think he bulked down a little. But thank goodness, maybe somebody over there finally heard my complaining. Other fans might complain too, but I have yet to really notice any.

Now over on The Vampire Diaries, it's like a soap opera. And all I really have to comment on is Damon is getting shitted on so badly. Really. It's almost painful to watch. I keep drawing parallels to Buffy the Vampire Slayer because how could I not? Every time I'm watching TVD I see Elena as Buffy Summers, the middle woman without the slayage ability, and her two vampire lovers that know each other very well but hate each other. Stefan who remind me of Angel (and kind of looks like him!). I was watching Buffy season 3 episodes and I can't help but find it almost creepy how he comes off the same as Angel. And Damon reminds me of Spike, who was funny and sexy but with a geeky and heartbroken mushy inside. I have a feeling TVD will turn out very different from Buffy, but both shows rock!

Now it's really late and no sleep will render me useless so off to bed. Kind of dreading the dentist tomorrow. No matter how old I get, the frickin' dentist scares the crap out of me.

Bass's Bio & The Vampire Diaries' books & obsession

It's been some time since I last blogged anything and I suppose I have a few things I can talk about.

First - I read Lance Bass's autobiography and it was terrible. I only read it because I am/was a fan of *NSYNC when I was little girl. It was too short and frankly, didn't talk much about Lance's life. It felt like a biographer wrote the book to me because it didn't feel very personalized. Bass just complains about things that went wrong for him. He complains about the lawsuits against his former manager, Lou Pearlman. He complains about how the Russians wasted his time and money by promising his dreams of going into space to become a reality when they backed out last minute. He complains about how Justin Timberlake ended *NSYNC for good by going solo and becoming a triple -threat in the entertainment business. That last part is completely true in my opinion and I never would have thought that bleached curly-haired dude would do it. Props for JT for proving everyone wrong (or me at least).

Second - I'm fully obsessed with the CW show, The Vampire Diaries. It's become so strong that I can't wait for the second season and the first on DVD at the end of August. I'm looking forward to this much more than Supernatural which is/was my favorite show. It's been waning on me the last two seasons with the ongoing (aka outstretched) angels story lines. I guess I'm interested in something fresh at this point. I don't watch much TV these days but I do cut time out of my days for these two network shows. The move to Friday was another problem I had with Supernatural, but I think they are trying to spread out the line-up so they can add new shows in. I just hope I don't get sucked into watching Nikita...

I've sucked myself far enough into Vampire Diaries that I read my way through the first four novels which come in a magical duel set so readers get four for the price of two. I'm a little wary about reading the returning novels considering I've seen some reviews that insist it's not as good as the originals. I have to say I was far more impressed with these books opposed to Twilight which is the dominating opponent to everything vampire related these days. Really, do people have to compare every literary piece that involves vampires to Twilight? Twilight is not like most vampire novels, it's YA romance and that's about it. I'm getting off the Twi-hard train before some Twi-nazi starts tromping me for talking bad about their favorite book series.

Some things I found different about the books that I enjoyed are as follows:

- The main character dies, comes back, and dies again. Then which a supporting character takes over. This happens with Elena and Bonnie takes narrating in the last book. I didn't really like Bonnie very much up until that point, she was weak to me. She has witch powers and such but she never really takes advantage of them the way I wish she would. Her being a big part of the last book made me finally enjoy and appreciate her character the way I wish I could have for the other three books.

- Damon. I love Damon's character on the show but it's a very different representation of him from the books. As a reader, we don't know much of anything about Damon except in flashbacks from Stefan's POV and some small moments with Elena. He isn't domineering part of the story and he's like background noise; you know it's there and it's slightly annoying. There is no wounded side of him in the book and he eventually walks away from them all at the end saying he's not like the rest of them. I want to feel absolutely pissed about this but I love that. It's very different from the show, very different.

- Stefan. I think one can tell I have a "crush" on Damon, but I have respect for Stefan in the books. He was sappy at the beginning and that just makes me wanna say "Cheer up, guy" but when you're a vampire you can't really tell them to be happy. They are eternally damned so... Later in the books, Stefan takes a stronger stance and is actually linked to all the friends in Elena circle. The whole story opens up and isn't just one-sided with just Elena and him.

- Meredith & Matt. These are wonderful supporting characters. Meredith isn't in the show and I wish like hell she was. She's the strongest of all the girls in the books. She comes off as quiet and shy but turns out to be a very resourceful and sharp-minded. She reminds me of myself and I can relate to her character the best. Matt is my favorite character in the books and I've established that half-way through the first book. He's the guy I wish existed in my life, he's there when you need him and he's stronger and smarter than you might get from a quick glance at him. He's suppose to be the jock of the story but hardly fits the stereotype (Tyler Lockwood is a better fit especially personality wise) and surprised me several times throughout my reading. I enjoy the on-screen Matt on the TV show too and I hope he gets a little more involved like he is in the books. I'm really looking forward to that.

This is a little off-topic but I noticed that DAMON spelled backward is NOMAD and he comes off like that in the book. He's constantly coming and going and no one knows what he is up to. I like the supernatural bit where he can turn into a crow and I wish they kept that in the show. I understand that it is corny and on-screen it did look that way. It bugged me that they never explained what all the crow and fog stuff was about. If you didn't read the books you'd find it strange how it goes from Dracula-spooky to none of it next episode. It's a cool character trait and if they could bring it back that would be neat. Also, Damon controlling the weather was cool and wouldn't mind that either.

I guess I should read the newer books for the heck of it. I'll probably enjoy those too.

Nothing Hairy about "Wolf Lake"

I did not hear of 'Wolf Lake" through a friend or a website but directly from my television. I watched parts of it when SciFi would play a marathon block during their morning program between 2007-2008. This was before the stupid name change and I'm not aware if they play the episodes in morning blocks still. I have not seen of it this year but I could just be missing it. I never caught full episodes and was never sure what was going on because I never saw the first episode.

For some reason, I became interested in watching the 9 episodes that aired originally in 2001 on CBS and re-aired on networks such as UPN, SciFi, and Chiller. There was also an unaired pilot I read about but have not watched considering people have said it's completely different from the other 9 episodes. I found the episodes in a torrent and downloaded them to pique my interest and from what I can tell I really enjoyed "Wolf Lake".

The basic plot of the show was centered around a Seattle police officer named John Kanin (played by Lou Diamond Phillips) in search for his missing girlfriend, Ruby Cates(played by Mia Kirshner) which leads him to a small Washington town called "Wolf Lake". When Kanin arrives he's quick to notice something is not right about the town and is determined to uncover its secret. The secret is simple, Wolf Lake is home to none other than wolves.

It surprised me that this show didn't last, but I think supernatural ones don't do well unless involved with recent trends. Hence, the million vampire and werewolf related shows popping up on networks because of the Twilight phenomena. I find the story lines to be simple enough to follow while complicated enough to keep you interested.

By far the best character on "Wolf Lake" had to be Sherman Blackstone (played wonderfully by Graham Greene) who is the voice of reason among the residents of the town. I'm not completely clear if he's human or not because I swear he said he was 7, 000 years old in an episode. His character has the funny one liners and is hard to not like. He hung around the background of the story lines almost like a piece of wallpaper but if the show had continued probably would have ended up a big piece of the plot involving Kanin's investigation of Wolf Lake and Ruby.

Another aspect I enjoyed was the young adult plot line following the Sheriff's daughter, Sophia (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Luke Cates (played by Paul Wesley). Sophia was dealing with her transition from human to wolf or called "flipping" on the show. Luke is one of the kids in town that is a wolf and his father is the alpha male of the wolf pack. Sophia is afraid to embrace the wolf side of her along with her father Matt Donner (played by Tim Matheson) who was a wolf himself. Even in her hesitation, she turns to Luke for help and understanding on what it's like to embrace the wolf.

There are other story lines that are introduced but unfortunately do not get a resolve. I won't discuss the rest because I rather you (readers) check it out for yourself because it's worth a look. The cast is fairly well known and wonderfully played. The story is strong and it really made me interested in what could of happened. The 9 episodes ended in a pivotal point where many of the story lines were being branched out and possibly resolved. That's what fanfiction is for though, folks!

For those of you who haven't seen it, I recommend searching Google for a torrent because it should be simple enough to find. I was flummoxed that none of the episodes in the torrent were high quality, in fact they all looked VHS ripped for the most part. Since they aired in recent years there should be higher quality available somewhere. I wouldn't know a really good place to look but some of you might know better than myself.

I might (for the heck of it) do an episode break down if I feel like applying myself to it. It would be with pictures and all but I could leave LiveJournal for that.

Rain still lives! & Supernatural on a new night?

I found out that these online television shows are actually called virtual series. RAIN, the one virtual series I spoke of before on my blog, is actually still around. I found it while browsing on the Buffy forums. I'm not an actual member, and I don't see why I'm not, but I enjoy reading virtual series on there. Many interesting Buffy spin-offs and loads of talented writers on it. I'm happy Beth is still making episodes, now I can read some new ones! YAHHHHHHHHHHH!

The other bit of information I have is Supernatural is moved to Friday nights at 8 p.m. now! I cannot believe this but I saw a promotional on CW for it when I was re-watching The Vampire Diaries and Moonlight is on after it. Then Friday, I was flipping channels and there it was on after Smallville. I'm a little annoyed and I'm not sure if it's just a summer deal, but I suppose I'm in need of a change. I just have to watch both Thursday and Friday nights!

(Yeah, I checked it and it's officially on Friday for fall's schedule...sigh...I will survive...)

Oh, and can I complain about the networking doing some new promotional material for the show? I'm sick of looking at material from Season 2, do they think they can shell some money for the current season? I know it's a veteran show but Smallville and even One Tree Hill gets new material.

As far as I've been aware lately...I've had more power than I thought I had with what I choose to say or not say. I've always been the quiet, shy girl that never speaks her mind and I still am now. But from a recent row with a brother to being unexpectedly pissed off by a friend's comment, I'm getting tired of keeping my mouth shut. I'm a pacifist, by all means, and I don't encourage fighting. I grew up with fighting all around me and I grew tired of it years ago. I'm not really talking about fighting here, it more or less is just letting people know how you truly feel about an issue.

I've decided that if I don't like someone's opinion I will let them know otherwise how I feel. It's no more keeping my trap shut even though I'd like to. It's said it does one good to do something that scares them everyday so I think this will be my "thing". I know I've been very on/off about blogging but I'm hoping to post some insightful, simple life things. I'll always talk about pop culture...in fact, I need to get into some new fads. Many of my old/recent ones are dying.

And can anyone tell me what a buffalo stance is?

It's been a long spring...

It's been a while since I last left a post, but that's okay because no one reads my blog except me. It is a little disappointing that comments remain at zero and so does my self-esteem.

What brings the changes? Coffee. That simple. I should not drink caffeine when I rarely do because I can't sleep all day from one 8 oz. cup of it. I decided to remodel my blog again to look crisper, more summer sheen than winter blues. The weather hasn't been too nice yet, but the humidity sneaks in the air when it can. I hate that sticky feeling, it's suffocating and hot.

My summer break is here and I have nothing to do. It prompts me to go out and get a job like everyone else. But it doesn't help that I have my anxieties to work about and my diabetes. My diabetes has been in better check lately. It hasn't been high and I figure it has to do with cutting out white starches from my diet. My nutritionist says it's the worst for blood sugars and I've noticed, but trying to stay away from them is hard. I like a piece of toast for breakfast or sandwich, and my family loves their white starches. Especially my father who has Type 2 and still eats as many carbs as he wants. And he wonders why he is fat! He needs to stop eating junk food and pop. Eliminating those two things from your diet can be a vast improvement to your health.

I don't eat pizza anymore unless it's offered at someone's home and then I'll politely eat a piece. I try to eat salad more, in fact, I ate one everyday for a while. I got sick a while back and threw up one of them so I haven't been eating them as much. I'm slowly trying to work it back into a daily meal.

I haven't seen D too much lately but she's been working on some nice improvements to her life. I'm proud that she's making big steps even if she's afraid to make them. I'm afraid of everything, dear, try leaving the house without having something to fear. Her car is very nice and if I had one like that I would get my license too, but then there's plenty of other problems within that. I'm a fan of Queer as Folk because of her now. Which reminds me of how much I miss Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. I think they show reruns on TLN...but I haven't watched the channel recently.

Another thing about being rudely kept up by caffeine is enduring my drunk brother pawing on me for hugs and telling me how much he loves me. This happens pretty often and I'm a little blessed that it does, it makes me feel needed somewhere for a little bit. I have to take him up to his room, make sure he doesn't hurl in the process, and make sure he's awake for work in the morning.

I think I can do homemaker. I can cook, but I wouldn't put anyone up for eating whatever I make. I love chicken and potatoes. Well, meat and potatoes really. I'll take a home-cooked meal over fast food any day. Is it corny to want to have theme parties too? I wish my friends and I could do those. Make food and dress up and have fun. Gosh, I sound like I should be on "The Golden Girls".

It's been a while since I posted on my blog and it's a shame I haven't had anything to post about. I've celebrated a birthday since my last entry and that's about it. I'm waiting for spring weather to arrive since it is official spring despite the frequent cold. School takes up my time and I hate having to be there. I dislike how everyone I know thinks I love school when I absolute hate every minute I waste there. I am not a studious person and writing essays are the last thing I would want to spend extra time doing.

Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries is off hiatus and I'm hooting and hollering about that. I just wish something would happen on Supernatural, I feel like this whole season's plot of Michael and Lucifer keeps getting sidelined. It's more than half way into the season and I wish something would be happening. Last week involved a nice involvement of Bobby which sadly has only made brief appearances all season. All I want is a some more episodes about the horsemen and what the hell is up with Lucifer? Where is the guy?

I'm getting very fed up I'm starting to find the Vampire Diaries more fulfilling of my time and it's a shame to say so. I mean the show is a soap opera. Lies, deceit, and secrets. But I'm constantly wondering what the hell is going in. It could be the show is brand new, fresh in story and characters. Maybe after several years I'll get fed up and move on. I love Ian Somerhalder as the love-torn Damon. He is a true character of interest because he is cruel and deceiving as he can be nice and throwing jokes around. I never know what he will do next and usually it involves killing someone.

I'll continue watching and possibly being surprised or bored. WHATEVER. I'm going back to watching "Star Trek". Spock out.

Why Geocities Dumping Free Websites Has to Me!

Ever since I heard about Geocities getting rid of all their free websites they host, it's been persisitly bugging me. Why you may ask? Despite the fact that half if not most of the sites hosted are well over ten years old and haven't been updated in years, they were still amazing sites to visit.

One of my favorite fandoms is the 3 Ninja series and the only real websites you could find on these movies were free Geocities ones that fans had made themselves. When I visited these sites they provided information about alternate versions I didn't know about, plenty of fanfiction (and your pretty lucky if you find any good fanfiction for the movies now...) and lots of pictures.

I realize all the web designing was simplified and there was a lot of bad quality with the pictures or text. But what they offered more than anything made that up. Now websites like 3 Ninjas Galaxy, 3 Ninjas Online, and 3 Ninjas Rock On! are all gone. Most of their owners probably completely forgot about these pages but because of them I was able to discover more about one of my favorite movie series from when I was a kid.

Some of the websites still exist but kind of just lurk about since they don't get updated or haven't been for quite some time. I'm glad some can still be viewed and that some new websites have popped up in the last few years for 3 Ninjas' fans. I wanted to make a pretty complete and official website to the series but that's a big goal and one right now I can't fill. I wish there was an actual domain for this series since I know there are still fans out there. And I wish I could find older fans, most seem to be 14 year old girls and I'm a little older than that!

On a darker note, I found out yesterday that actress Zelda Rubenstein passed away on January 27. Although she was best remembered from the "Poltergeist" movies, she'll always be Madame Serena from "Teen Witch" to me!

Reasons Jo Harvelle Rocked

Today's post is an actual post because I have some updating to do. It's been a while since I had a new look and I'm going back to Supernatural because I love them Winchesters. I'm not too happy with the color scheme but I was trying to get it to go with the header. Enough babble, I want to talk about Jo Harvelle from Supernatural and why her character was one of my favorites.

My reasons won't be some straight forward list but more of a recap of things Jo did on Supernatural and how I think it reflects her character, but also what I liked about it.

I know many fans weren't too happy when Jo and Ellen Harvelle showed up at the beginning of season two especially when Jo was sort of written as a love interest to Dean. If there is one thing fans want is the Winchester boys free of relationships. That may dictate their own fantasies that apply but I would be getting off-topic. I could save that discussion for a later entry. I, myself, was not keen with the match-up. Just watching Dean hit on her seemed inappropriate considering she looked 16 and Dean was almost 30 at that point. But age is just a number and the tiny display at the bar was redeemed when Dean decided that Jo wasn't the right girl to try to sleep with at the time (and basically every time up until her death on the series...).

Instead of a romance between them it was more of a playful brother-sister role that developed probably because the writers knew fans' reactions and decided they better change it. It was a smarter decision on there part because it makes more sense. Dean can be a little "tasteless" at times, but Jo had a direct relation to hunting and to his father which meant Dean had more of an emotional dynamic with her. The hunting part made the two of them working a job interesting, it would have been cool to see her interact more with Dean and Sam's work but that ended up being a role for Ellen instead of Jo. The two could relate on a level that was a rarity; they grew up with the hunt and both of their fathers were killed by demons. From those factors you would think these two would have made an interesting couple, but it's not like Supernatural to promote love positively other than in a familial way.

So why does Jo Harvelle rock?

She's one of the only females on the show that has not been evil/bad. She wasn't even possessed or making bad mistakes. She was one of the most level headed albeit naive characters on the show, but an actual strong female character in male dominant show. She punched Dean in his face and didn't even flinch which you can't help but love. She saved Dean from the hellhounds and gave her life for the sake of saving the world. She wasn't afraid to tell things like they were and she could probably beat you in pool and poker.

Jo Harvelle is the type of female character I love to see in television. She was strong but ultimately had weaknesses (one of them being Dean!) but she didn't let them phase her. You just can't let anything in when you are a hunter because you can't have trust among anyone. But then again, maybe that's the weakness?

The Crow's Reboot

If there is one thing I possibly hate the most in this day and age is remakes, "re-imagings" and whatever else executives have used to call the movies they release these days. Most of the ones enduring this process are cult classics that have smart and usually wide fan bases. Unfortunately, I'm one of those fans. My opinion and of many other commenters online say that the only movies that need remakes are the terrible ones which I agree with. These movies usually don't have huge fan bases hence the fact that they do not get remade. I rather see "Hard Rock Zombies" or "Night of the Demons" getting a new twist. Thankfully, the later flick is and I'm hoping it will be just as horrible to watch the first time around.

My main complaint lies with 1994's "The Crow" which has become a cult movie with a huge fanbase and spawned several sequels which got suckier as they continued on...OK, I like Salvation but Edward Furlong as the Crow in Wicked Prayer was laughable. And David Boreanaz and Tara Reid was a weird coupling. I don't think Reid carries as much acting talent as she does partying talent.

The reboot had been in talks for a year or possibly longer, I was just bothered that they really were trying to remake this movie. The tangible link of death to the movie could let it be left alone although movie companies just want those extra dollars in their pockets. The movie has not been officially taken on but is currently still being constructed as I found out from a few internet sources. It's suppose to be a "relaunch" for this new generation, to modernize the character. It will not be Eric Draven the original character but a new one. It's also suppose to be like a "dark superhero movie" completely taking on the new Batman franchise. I hope Christian Bale has nothing to do with it, I'm sick of seeing that guy in every blockbuster.

The only positive aspect is the guy who directed Blade is doing this film. I love the first Blade movie, the best damn comic book movie I've seen and it has to do with vampires which I've loved since I was a little girl. So this reboot may be edgier but still gothic as the original. I have no idea who should be the Crow and I don't even want to don the possiblities. Brandon Lee was the Crow and no one could act out that character like him. I don't expect anyone too either.

It's sad to think they need to continue on with movies I love to watch, but I do watch the new ones anyway. I think the chance I may like a reboot is what drives the impulse. I'll wait and see what's in store. Nothing's been laid in concrete yet and maybe it won't be. Until then, I'll read the comic and pop in the DVD and enjoy "The Crow" the way it is.

Mandatory Excessive-ness

This is the only fanfiction I have found for "Still Life", an unaired FOX show that I've seen the pilot for and adore quite a bit. I wish more could be said for the show but it can't. Jensen Ackles (from The CW's "Supernatural" and Lionsgate's "My Bloody Valentine 3-D") starred in the lead role.

Accounting for the rest of my life...many other things have been going somewhat wrong. The family computer went kaput either from a problem with the motherboard or a the power source dying. I was in the middle of writing a story, not to mention most of the programs I use on that computer. I can't use Photoshop or any video editing programs I waste my time with and damn it, I can't get to my story. That's not the first problem...several relatives and friends had some nasty computer problems too. I think there is something going around...

I think I'm going to get off Facebook now. I don't really bother with it and I had to do it for one of my courses. I hate networking sites...I posted a little bit but I find it dull. Really, my life is too boring. I'm lucky is something exciting happens in a month. I guess Twitter would be better suited for me because then I'm on a strict word count and each post would be probably confusing. I'd type up some random fact or quote much like my time on Facebook and leave it for no one to reply/give me a comment.

Whatever...I'm life was never interesting to begin with and all those sites do is make people more selfish. More time to blab about themselves and how nifty there life is. Or usually about how much it sucks. Really, people, most of us have nothing to complain about. Give it a rest. Everything is so self-gratifying we will all have complexes soon and then I'm probably put the shotgun to my head. Then again, I suppose I'm just being a tad bit too emo for my liking.

I hope I've bored you all and not complained too much.

Does anybody else hate the IMDB message boards? Can anyone have an intelligent conversation on there without some argument over something so banal?

I should stay off the "Dark Angel" board from now on. I can't stand the way people discuss the show on there. No, I'm not some hardcore fan and no I'm not some pissed off fangirl, it's just the fact that people either ask stupid questions or start fighting over a topic that is just...not important.

Oh, and the reason "Dark Angel" got the boot was because FOX network decided it. That's it. It's not that hard...some shows don't make it. The extreme changes between the first and second season can accompany it's failure to see another season, but that's about it.

This blog is in definite need for a makeover of some kind...I'm too lazy to do it though. This part of the year is really busy though. Right before Christmas, it gets cold as hell froze over outside and I have dreaded final papers and exams to do. That will put anyone in the Christmas spirit!

Perhaps the biggest bollocks of all is all my television shows are on hiatus and don't return until mid-January. Getting a break from that is nice considering all the other things I have to worry about...

I was looking up stats on average television watching in the USA as of 2008-2009 and it's up 20% from 10 years ago according to Nielsen Wire . I find that hard to believe, I maybe watch 20 hours of television a week, but that happens out of boredom. I watch several shows throughout the year. This year I've clocked time for Supernatural, White Collar, Being Human, and The Vampire Diaries (simply because it's on before SPN). That's a few hours in one week. The other hours attribute to made-for-TV movies (or movie channel movies) and Comedy Central. I've watched more stand-up in the last year than I have in my entire life.

I rarely watch new shows, my boxed set DVDs of shows get more use on my television than actual cable. And I've watched some shows/ movies via Netflix or Hulu. Some among them have been True Blood which I do not get on cable or The Crow: Stairway to Heaven which I have never seen considering I was a kid when it aired. It's nice having the option to watch something just for the sake of having the ability to instead of fishing out 40 bucks for a boxed set especially if you don't know if it's worth it.

The question is do they considering watching these things online as watching them on television? It's another form of streaming entertainment that many people take advantage of in this technological age. I thought if it's offered online I don't have to lose an arm and a leg to find it on the television.

A side-note to all of this, my parents still cannot functionally use anything electronic. I had to set up an e-mail account for my father again because he can't remember the first one. I told them they have to remember because you need an e-mail address to do anything online. Maybe one day they'll get it.

new month & i'm bored

My dad is already talking about Christmas We are going to have a homemade Christmas this years because my family has no money. So presents are some kind of luxury now, but I rather it yummy food than get fifty presents. That could be my food obsession talking there, but I cant help it. I LOVE FOOD. My only wish was that I was a better cook so I could make some really delicious stuff to eat.

I am bored and I hate to announce it. I know I am and anybody reading this would know. Not to mention it is in the entry title. I'm using it as a segue for something to talk about unfortunately it fails because I told you why. Crap, I'm ranting...away, evil rant, away!

I've been a fan of Emma Watson since she started work on Harry Potter as Hermione Granger and she is the same age as myself. I'm several weeks older than her, but that's the only difference. I have always liked her, the mentality of doing well in school and her work, her fashion, and overall character as a person. She started university at Brown in Rhode Island this year to try and get back to a normal routine for herself. She says that she doesn't see acting as her career, she has many interests in other things particularly she has mentioned Literature and Art. I think it was wonderful she wanted to attend university especially in the States considering I'm from here.

I looked her name up on Google just because I wondered what college she decided on attending and I found out something kind of shitty. Supposedly she was being "stalked" (as all sources put it) at a football game between Brown and Harvard just so some fools could snap a picture of her. I get it, someone famous coming to your school, it would be cool to see them. The part I do not understand is why waste the energy? As people left comments on different source, I would like to state my own being a fan and all.

I believe that it's not right to do that to anybody, famous or not. If you get rowdy with it, it can pass for harassment. I don't blame the girl for being frightened by people following her, she was just trying to have some fun! I realize it's a bit hard to return to normality when for the last ten years your life has been anything but. The hype will die down I'm sure, but until then people need to grow up and recognize she is a human being and has certain unalienable rights.

I don't know why this is fretting my mind, but it is. I'm not sure why this is even on my mind but I suppose I should get to the point here...

I want to write an entry about logic and creativity. I don't think these two words cohabit together, but I'm writing a post about them anyway. Whenever I'm learning about something in class, many of the times I want to know why what's what. I want to know the logical standpoint of why gravity is and why Shakespeare wrote his plays in iambic pentameter and what the hell that really is...

But how far is it before knowing too much becomes too much? I want answer but than again I don't because they can flush out whatever I imagined about that certain thing. I like creativity and I want to keep it. As people get older, they wish for reasonable answers to everything. They learn the world isn't so care-free as it was as a child. I think so many people miss their childhood and constantly try to live it over and over again by looking through pictures and film, and events from those time periods.

Logic is a smart approach but is it sometimes bad for us? Knowing many things can prove useful when that knowledge is needed, but when you are in a strange situation where logic fails (think of Alice in Wonderland) will there be any creativity to help you?

I realize this is an on-going and probably unanswerable idea, but it bothers me. I want to have the same ability to write good stories now as I will twenty years from now. I don't want to hate writing because it has to be formal and unoriginal. I want to approach things from angles most people don't as I do today and hopefully will do for the rest of my life. I think it's good to have some child left in you, therefore you never truly loose that unwhittled heart that believes everything to be pure and simple.

I think I could be overanalyzing but I don't want my life to turn out that way.

I noticed this on other sites that they all had ratings of some kind. Well, my rating came out as R because my use of foul language. I don't actually post anything bad on here...some images may be gruesome if they relate to horror movies, but other than that this place is PG-13 at the most. I guess I can refrain a little from the bad language, but I doubt many young kids will visit this blog. I don't even know if it's visible on Google or not.

"Happy Birthday To Me" MusicTracks

My brother just bought this the other day at Wal-Mart for $5 and I have to say it's worth the deal. I first saw it on FearNet, original version folks, not the bad disco score version. I really like this movie despite it's lack of gore or comprehending the finale of it. Really, I'll have to watch the movie several more times to get the gist of what really happened in the movie.

I went looking for the music tracks on the web and came up empty-handed. I did see that people were asking for some of the tracks from the movie and I tried with DVD-ripping some of the music. It's not the best, but I don't know how to make it perfect since I'm not tech savvy. I do think if you're looking for something to download this could be your best bet at the moment. If you know a better place to find the actual score to the movie, let me know!

The two tracks I ripped are the end song "Happy Birthday to Me" by Syreeta and the "Main Theme" which was composed by Bo Harwood and Lance Rubin. I believe the "Main Theme" is also looped on the DVD's root menu.

It's managed to slip my mind several times that it's October meaning lots of Horror movies and Halloween. My two favorite things. I don't know what to be for Halloween, it's been a few years since I dressed up for it. I want to be creative but that is hard to do.

Any good horror movies I should see (and by that I mean 70s and 80s ones)?

We probably won't decorate our yard...we never do. When I live by myself I'll try and do that. There is this guy who lives down the street from my grandparents and decorates his whole yard. I might take a picture or two this year and post them.

Also this month Fear Clinic premieres on FearNet, they have been pimping that series very much all over FearNet...I can't wait for it!

My mother's birthday is this month and my cousin's wedding anniversary. They bought a new home recently.

Sold Your Soul for Twilight?

Honestly, I don't remember when Twilight truly became a fad. I remember having a keen interest in the book after it was reviewed/recommended in "Teen Vogue" years back. I remember thinking the plot sounded interesting and I love vampires. I remember anytime being at a bookstore trying to buy the book, but I never did. I thought about reading it for two years, all the way back in 2005 when it was published. It took about two years to finally purchase and read. I loved the first book, albeit it wasn't the most original idea and not written very well. People could connect to it no matter how young or old you were. But, then this thing happened, and the series has been destroyed for me. (Oh and fuck the rest of the series, I don't need an explanation for every little detail about the book, the anonymity of the first was enough to please me. My only regret is Jacob Black is better in the sequels, I wouldn't have cared much for this character otherwise.)

I'm not going to rant because I rather avoid having fans chewing my ass out. I like the movies. I do, but it seems unnecessary. I have liked Robert Pattinson since Harry Potter but the shit that follows him is silly. All the fodder and paparazzi, just damn silly. I like the soundtracks for the movies, they contain many artists I enjoy and I listen to them quite a bit. It's a little shocking how such a hightlighted film has a indie/alternative soundtrack. I figure because it's a love story the music choices are obvious.

I am a person that hates fads. So anytime something feels like it's become too much and it's clearly being overun by people that don't seem to have redeeming qualities to be fans the whole fandom is destroyed for me. That is just a jab at all those 12-year-olds whom I can't imagine seeing the complexity in story lines unless they are all geniuses. I know I'm being a little cruel and the truth is the Twilight Saga isn't complex. It's like bread and butter.

I need to go back to my lovely horror movies. I want Anne Rice's suave and timeless vampires, The Lost Boys with their sex, blood, and rock n' roll...just the 1930's Bela Lugosi version.

I don't think of Twilight as vampires really either...they're like a kind of animal, predator which I hardly relate to the vampires I'm familiar with.

Okay, that's it. I need to get off this subject. This is bogging me down.

I post. Life has been busy, tiring, and all over shitty. I don't have anything to particularly discuss in this post. I wanted to talk about the Chris Farley biography "The Chris Farley Show" but I'm too lazy to really do all that typing. Maybe another post.

October is here, finally, and I'm excited. Halloween is this month, my favorite holiday and I expect to be seeing some awesome soundtracks pop up over the month. If there is one thing I'm always interested in is Halloween related music. Plenty of Halloween Mega Mixes too! I thought about doing one of my own but I don't think I could pick just a few songs.

I may make a more informative post after this about something. Peace out.

What is with this "Jordan Catalano" fellow?

I just made my way through all 19 episodes of "My So-Called Life", a 90s teen-aged related television show that was rather well done but managed only a short life over an expansion of two years. The show aired from 94-95 and only produced 19 episodes. The show centered around 14-year-old Angela Chase played cleverly by Claire Danes and all the conflicts in her life. I won't get too detailed on what the show was about but the show was very realistic compared to many television shows I have ever watched. There is always a dramatic scent upon each show, but MSCL never once felt like you were watching a TV show. Many of the conflicts that arose throughout the episodes were never resolved and usually things would come to be more complicated than originally derived which was caused by the characters involved. The dialogue was not neat or clear, in fact "like" is among the show's favorite words. And "like" is very common for teenagers to use. Same goes for "I don't know", we like that one too. My concern is not with the show, but with the character "Jordan Catalano".

In the pilot episode, we find Angela to be confused and harboring a crush with silent "Jordan Catalano". Weirdly enough, I thought it to be typical to crush on him, he was cute, older, and vastly different from her. As the show progressed, he was quickly established as the character that was more discussed than seen which became annoying for me. Jordan only uttered several sentences in one episode, and they were not anything profound. It was merely a "hey", or something that was completely irrelevant to anything. Among his lack of expression, he could not read because he was dyslexic, which was nice to learn something about him, but they never really acted on it. His condition was brought up and discussed briefly, but that was as far as the story line went. Halfway through, I was wondering why so many people were commenting on how great Jordan was... I didn't see what made him so wonderful. He never said anything, he never did anything, and Angela was infatuated but he seemed hardly interested. So, I came to two conclusions about why people love "Jordan Catalano"...

One: Because he is played by Jared Leto and if you are a fan of his you pretty much love anything he is in. I did not like "Jordan Catalano" at all. I love Jared Leto. He is a wonderful actor and musician. I love him in "The Last of the High Kings" as an Irish boy named Frankie in the 70s. American Psycho, Requiem for a Dream, and Urban Legend. He's played some great
characters. I love 30 Seconds to Mars too, I have both their albums and listen to them often. I realize the man is gorgeous, he has amazing eyes. I will say the long hair and black eyeliner does not look great on him. I like him with short hair and no make-up. In fact, I don't really like make-up on anyone, I believe natural beauty is much richer.

Two: These people are idiots. I know this is a mean statement, but face it, the only time Jordan became a real character was by the final episode. He started expressing himself to others. He didn't do this to Angela because I think there was a fear of losing her permanently so he got Brain Krakow to help him. That idea was not smart and makes me not like him worse. I know he can't write or read well, but really why make Brian write the total letter solely, shouldn't Brian have helped him instead? Jordan had the capabilities to do it but he didn't! It's like he's trying to get her through a false pretense. So not the right thing, Angela is very smart and beautiful and I think she did not deserve it. Ultimately, if the show had continued, it would have been wonderful to see Jordan as he truly is, no evasive stoner-like methodology, okay? He would have had a great developing character, too bad he did not get the chance!

The obvious idea of Jordan Catalano was the "fantasy" character. Angela had this idea of who this guy was in her head. He was beautiful and exactly what she wanted because she didn't even know the real him. Many crushes develop this way and the fantasy gets washed away when the dreamer finds the fantasy in their minds hardly to be the person they are crushing on. I think it happened to Angela as she attempted to get closer to Jordan, but he wasn't as she imagined for so long. He did some unforgivable things and it added up to her love turning to hate. Jordan comes to find he loves Angela and I think the reason behind it is because she is very different from any girl he had been with. She has standards and cares for him, wants to know things that he would never share with others. But none of this is actually admitted, just several hints in different episodes. Clearly, the fan fiction world lives on past the short life of the show. Speaking of, I'll have to look into some. To clear it up, I don't hate Jordan, how he was on the show bugged me and in many ways I don't think he deserved Angela's attention or love. But I can see where they cared about each other. I may feel different if more of the show had been produced and had seen where the characters would have gone.

Somehow, I would like to believe that Angela would not end up with either Jordan Catalano or Brian Krakow because Jordan was too different from her and Brian was too selfish most of the time. Brian was more on her level as a person, but I don't think it could work, there could have been dating. Especially if she knew he wrote that letter to her which she finds out in the last ten minutes of the final episode.

The show ended in a cliffhanger because they were unaware if they would get picked up for more, but it did not. If you haven't seen "My So-Called Life", I recommend it because it's very about day-to-day life and dealt with every day problems. Watch out for Angela's little sister, Danielle, and her funny one-liners.

Keanu Reeves stars in "Sparhusen"

My mother mentioned this to me the other day. Everyone in my household knows I'm a freak of nature when it comes to Keanu Reeves. He is now officially raiding the internet in My Damn Channel's original web series called "Sparhusen". It's looks pretty humorous but I don't know how I feel about him playing a Danish character, he has a bad time with accents (Remember Coppola's Dracula? The British accent? ...See?) but thankfully it's all in jest. I'm looking forward to watching it...check out the trailer!

Besides that, I heard that write-ups were going down on the "Cowboy Bebop" script that Reeves has signed on for as Spike Speigel. I wonder what they could be? They are probably minor adjustments, but I hope nothing drastic. I actual like this anime and they could fuck it up if they tried.

"Sparhusen" starts on October 8th, this fall.

A Supernatural Article

When my brother came home from work last night, he slapped this article down in front of me.

It's always a pleasant surprise when someone writes about your favorite show especially when it's one that's constantly getting underrated. You have no idea how elated I was when Entertainment Weekly did a 1-2 page spread for the show! However, that's about as big as article's come for Supernatural fans. Anyone is better off buying the official magazine or some of those Sci-Fi ones to read about the show.

Criss Angel's an island of his own.

I was at my newly refurbished library yesterday for new books to read. I was browsing the nonfiction section and this was there:

I first heard of Criss Angel probably a little over two years ago from a friend. I didn't think much of him even after she was trying to sell me on him. It was just banter about new shit that each of you are into at the time. It wasn't until I was flipping around channels and came upon "Criss Angel's Mindfreak" on A&E and watched one of the episodes that I was sold on his "freaking". I had never seen a single person pull the stunts and illusions like he did, it was like he was born to do it. Watching his show opened up my mind to possibilities I didn't even think existed in space and time. Of course I wanted to write away that it was fake and no way anyone have those capabilities Angel displayed. The more I watched, the more it become less about trying to prove him a fraud and just about being in awe of everything he did. I'm not sure what Criss Angel is, very talented and more than just a magician maybe, but it was truly unbelievable what he did every week.

Now his book, "Criss Angel: Mindfreak, Secret Relevations" is part autobiography, part guide to life/magic/spiritualism(?). It was easy to read and included pictures of some of Criss's amazing feats. I never new much back story about his life or how he wiggled his way to the top of the world of Magic, but this book gave me a peek into it. Criss narrates parts of his life from being a boy to trying to scrap money together for an off Broadway show. He talks about himself and the journey that has brought him to where he is today. Throughout the narration are quotes from his family and friends about Criss and trials and tribulations he's preserved through. Criss appears egotistical at parts but he stated at more than one time that he is ego-driven. It can be annoying to the reader but after reading through the whole book, it only makes sense that he carries that personality trait. He only looked to himself to get where he wanted to go and in the long run it led him where he dreamed of since he was a boy. Some facts I learned about him that I never knew was he originally wanted to be a musician but found magic to be more lucrative for him and now he fuses both together, he built this robots/mechanical creatures that he used in his stage shows, and that he basically never sleeps (only three hours, he said).

A good portion of the book talks about how Angel feels about art and I thought many of his points were valid if not plausible. He uses art in what he creates and actively does, perhaps more visually than actors or artists. He discussed how people didn't understand his look calling him out as gothic when he explains it as a personality he created. Criss Angel is a personality, he always wanted one so an audience could identify him, dissociated from others. He wanted "mindfreak" to be his word so people could identify him as he was. Of course, when I hear the word I think "mind fuck" but it really isn't en masse friendly word hence the change to freak. His work and world is freaky so the title suits him well.

The latter part of the book is 40 tricks a reader can learn that Criss has performed. It's detailed and easy to follow but looks like these tricks take plenty of practice to master (and he admits that you should give yourself plenty of practice before taking the tricks to the public!). I'm not much of magician and I have never dabbled but these were cool to read about. Criss Angel is known for all the incredible stunts he pulls on his show "Mindfreak" and out of all the insanity there is one I just love. In one episode, Criss walks across a Las Vegas pool, partial with shoes and partial without them (Picture to the left). It's not the coolest stunt he's pulled but there is something about this particular one that makes me think. Criss Angel has somehow unlocked parts of his mind that remain dormant that allows him to levitate. I realize it's a stretch but we only use 7-8% of our brains, just think of the what could be hidden away! Criss explains that you have to open your mind to the possibilities and have faith and just believe in what you do. It's a good philosophy to have and I wish I could carry that around with me whenever I can't feel that positive. People surprise me everyday, but that's a good thing. He also brings up a good point not to rely too heavily on other people or their promises, not everything someone tells you is true. Better to take it with a grain of salt.

Overall, if your a fan you've probably read this and if you have not, I think you should. As a fan myself, it allowed me to learn a little more about Criss Angel and even to believe that anything is possible. Criss Angel needs to write a self-help or spiritual guide or something. He opened my mind while I was reading several parts that dug into subjects like art and the people who inspired his work. Now I'd love to do something with my life, it gave me a little hope. Knowing that someone can endure so much and overcome it a much stronger person is astonishing and inspiring. He's entered my list of great entertainers and it does no good to be skeptical, some things are better left unexplained...

Pauly Shore - Scraps from the Future

Recently, I downloaded one of Pauly Shore's stand-up albums and I wanted to talk a little about it. First off, I was unaware that he had any comedy albums and then I found two on some blog. I don't remember exactly where but if you think it was your blog, let me know.

Pauly Shore was a little before my time, but I suppose I grew up with him because his movies were always on rotation on cable. I've seen "Encino Man", "Son-In-Law", "In The Army Now!" and "Bio-Dome" countless times. Granted they ain't pure Oscar material (far from it!) they are entertaining and Shore's need for quirky antics is fresh. So is his stellar wordage. While listening to the tracks he is insanely dated with words such as "nugs", "buff" and "weeze", but that's a huge part of Pauly's persona.

There is dirty jokes, dirty language, and dirty minds and inquires a laugh here and there. I was amused and could look for it for future listening. Among the tracks, Pauly Shore sings a song called "Lisa, Lisa" which I assume he made up entirely and who knows what it's about...the actual music was great, hard rock but his voice destroys it so I ignored it. The one part that was the best had to be Pauly's mother making an appearance talking to her son in that motherly sense. How many people pull their parents into stuff like that?

If you're a Pauly Shore fan, I'd add this to your collection or possible take a listen. The album has it's moments but nothing "piss your pants funny". I enjoyed it for Shore's words, I wonder if he still uses that early 90s slang? Does ANYBODY use that? I joke around and say "weezing the juice" and whatnot, but I think it died like Pauly Shore's career...

BTW, did anyone see "Pauly Shore is Dead"? Is it any good?

And, yes, I'm a Pauly Shore fan even if I was in the context of mean. I'm giving my two cents and in no way should anyone take anything I mention to heart.

I was rummaging in my dad's records last year to pull some out and listen to them, and found a part of an Alice Cooper one. Inside was a calendar with Alice hung on a noose. I thought it was cool because strange and horrific things fascinate me. It's from 1972, it promptly states underneath the picture. It's hard to even see in a photo even with a close-up. I taped it to my door because I fugure that's better than being thrown out and I love it. Couldn't be in a better spot, I say.

I uploaded it in case anybody wanted to look at it. As usual, all this is done for my own amusement. I have nothing better to be doing except maybe Philosophy readings.

The Supernatural Evolution

Wow, a back-to-back post! This one is a bit of a mindless rant, but I wanted to share it nonetheless. I picked up my fourth season DVD of Supernatural last week and I was watching Convention videos on Youtube and slowly came to the conclusion that I need to talk about this show. I've made graphics and shared them endlessly on the Internet, but I have hardly given my two cents about the show/the cast&crew/related items. This is not a review or critique, just an opinion from a fan. Feel free to comment if you are a fan of the show too!

The Winchester Boys

My love affair(as I love to put it) began two years ago in September 2007. I was browsing the shelves at Target and saw the titled DVD for twenty dollars. The first things that hit my mind was "I know this show, I've heard of this!". And I had, back in 2005 when I saw a promotional advertisement for the pilot and start of the show. I thought it looked amazing, something I would love to watch...but I never did. Reasons being, I wasn't too "into" television shows at the time, I didn't have a place to watch it, and I forgot about it. The only show on my radar in '05 was Buffy of the Vampire Slayer, I had been a rabid fan for five years and I still love it til this day. I backburnered it and moved on to Supernatural.

Heading back to the movie section at Target, the first season was cheap and I figured I'd take the risk and buy it. At the time, I was not familiar with Jensen Ackles too much. In the summer I had watched both seasons of "Dark Angel" and thought it was wonderful so I was ready to see more of him. Jared Padalecki wasn't as anonymous as Jensen, I had seen "House of Wax", "New York Minute", and "Cry_Wolf" along with some of the work he did on "Gilmore Girls"(funnily enough his character's name was Dean on that show!). I started watching it the second I came home and sat straight through until the season finale. And boy, did that season finale plow right into me! I was hooked and I needed more.

It was a while between the time I bought the first season and the second season. In the between time, I watched more of the shows and movies Jensen had done. "Devour" was a gift from my brother from Christmas. I was excited because I was a huge horror fan so I thought it might be good, it turned out to confusing and until this day I will watch it and try to figure the plot out. Really the problem is all the scripts conflicts they had while in production and that clearly makes itself present throughout the film. I watched part of season four of "Smallville", I had watched the first two and some of the third. I like "Smallville" but it got too intricate and something there fizzled out for me. I saw "Blonde" during the next summer on Lifetime one morning and enjoyed it. I really liked the way Jensen played Eddy G. in that, a bit of a step away from everything else. There was countless other things I had seen via websites, other people as well.

I started watching the show on television during the earlier part of season three. I received the second season as I birthday gift (and the best one for the year!) and watched through it. This explained away plot lines in the third season that I didn't understand such as Gordon Walker's story line. The second season was wonderful too and many things happened that were heart-wrenching. Supernatural is one of the few shows were when the characters are struggling you can feel the struggle. This is in large part due to the well-written material by the writers of the show and talented actors filling the shoes of their roles.

I will side track a minute and talk about other parts of Supernatural. I always loved how great the cinematography of show was. It was dark and intense with high contrast colors. The CGI effects were far and in-between, but it is a horror/fantasy/sci-fi genre show which requires these elements from time to time. The soundtrack turned me on to classic rock and it's a fresh direction to hear songs I was familiar to because my dad loves rock n' roll especially AC/DC and Metallica. I was all to familiar with the sound of the show and it turned me into a Bad Company freak. I listened to their albums many times after I started watching the show. The score is impeccable too, haunting and stoic. It'll be quiet then jolt you upright. Wonderful. I recommend anyone who hasn't listened to the score to look it up. It should be easily available for download. The scripts for each show tell a shit load of myths/legends along with enough comedic timing to make you laugh at least one time in every episode. I have learned about all the different kinds of supernatural items there are. I find the show sets itself far apart from others because it time-warps itself. Everything featured has been highlighted years before it's premiere. The music, the legends and myths, and even many of the names too. They are simple and ones I have heard of that don't sound pretentious!

Third season comes and goes...by this time I'm watching convention videos and considering purchasing merchandise. Yes, I'm that hooked. I live near Chicago and wanted to go to the first convention so badly but I was young(er) and I did not have the money/transportation. I watch all that I can and still wish one day luck will befall on me and I will meet Jensen and Jared. However, all the money I have/make goes toward my college education and my medication for my diabetes. Does anyone notice how the boys seem loosened up and very talkative at the conventions? At the beginning, they weren't really into all this promotion crap, but they indulge in it now, they must do four or five a year...And what's with Jensen always getting up halfway through his panel and walking around? I guess he likes to keep busy... or his bum is falling asleep, take your pick. Either way, the guys are fun and open which gives into a lovely weekend for all the fans in attendance.

I've never been active in sharing my love for the show. My immediate family knows I'm obsessed because Thursday is my night at home. I don't have many friends (I sound like a loser for saying that even if it is true!) and the friends I do have don't like many of my interests so it's near impossible for one of them to get into the series. I've never met another fan like me face-to-face. The only time someone's interest ever came up was when I would buy the show on DVD and the cashier would make a comment on how they or someone they knew loved the show. Where are these Supernatural fans? What do I have to do to find them? I don't belong to forums or anything like that because it's like you have to be in a constant loop with this people. I can't always be, I like to have time where I don't have to check or do anything. RELAX. I've friend-ed a few people on LiveJournal but never personally talk much about the show.

Through the show...I've come to love the main actors, all of them not just Jensen and Jared. I rather not talk about J-Squared or Wincest because it's not my "thang" so to speak. I'm not going to get into it because that'll unleash some unholy hell for me. I support fans but not all of their actions. I have a certain moral code for myself and some of these things pass it. I just nod it off nonchalantly because if I don't condone it, I don't have to partake. I'm all for it. I have merchandise from the show.

Most of my things are common and purchasable. I may have forgot something on the list. A little story about merchandise - when I was in the hospital for several days because of my diabetes (horrible!) my brother, Nick walked in with the Dean shirt on and I smiled for the first time in two days. It was rough, but Supernatural pulls me through some of my darkest days. It's let me kept my life and I appreciate and love it for that fact. I'm happy that I made that split second decision two years ago. It's changed my life in little ways and I give all the credit to Eric Kripke for coming up with this haberdasher pitch years back.

The fourth season opened a new flood gate and the decisions made with it are unique but timeless to say the least. The good vs. evil theme has always been there but now it's present sanctimoniously. Castiel was a great addition and excited to see him continue into the fifth as a regular. Misha Collins is one of the few widely accepted guests of the show and I don't blame them. That character is solid and way too important to the show. Most guests would come and go week by week, the key is to somehow wrap the character into the story line. The only characters that do usually get an extended life line. The angels/demons theme concerned me at first thinking the show was going south, but it made the show better. I'd like to think the fourth season is it's strongest right up there with the first. Let's hope it will come back to a family theme although it's headed for "Let's Look at the Big Picture".

Music Blogs Are A LifeSaver for an Obscure Listener Like Me

It's been a long time since I just posted an entry where I actually wrote more than a short paragraph. My life isn't too exciting so there isn't much to report on. I will talk about something I do online and very often on Blogger.com.

I like surfing music blogs, you can find some very rare music on them. In fact, it's one of the few places I spend my time looking for music. I don't have any music to offer myself such as all the contributors who own blogs and actively post on them. I try to leave comments because when I post things I hope for a comment. These people are doing a favor by uploading and sharing something from their own collections. Too bad many of the music blogs get shut down or stop updating because they've "moved past" their music sharing days. Or all the dead links to material. That can be quite frustrating when you search and search and finally come upon something and find that you can't have it. It's like dangling a candy bar in front of a fat kid and telling him if he cleans his room or does his homework he'll receive his reward. He does the deed and winds up empty handed. But what can you do? Move on to the next blog hoping you'll find a link that works.

My taste most lie in awfully bad music in a soundtrack persuasion. 80s movie soundtracks are without a doubt my favorite to listen to and you have no idea how excited I was to find the rare "Prom Night" album on Vinnie's blog. I've come to appreciate that blog along with The Inferno Music Crypt , I have to check in on them at least once a week to know what's new. I'm sure I will come to appreciate many more that I encounter along my trek of the music blogger highway.

Not much has functionally been going on with me. I decided on some premenstrual wim to go through older comic books I have. I don't really collect them, most were handed down from my brothers and some I had purchase myself as a kid. In my current browsing, it wasn't the plot lines that particularly caught my interest, it was the advertisements placed throughout. I noticed most ads frequented video games, films, and candy, but some were for other things. Things I never heard of and some things I remember quite fondly from my childhood. Most of these comic books were from the 90s (from early to later) and even some newer and older. I have a very small yet random collection. I loved them as a little girl because my brother's had so many and I thought they were cool to read.

(BTW, all the scans are film advertisements.)

The scans aren't the best quality and I did not feel like trying to load big files so they have been re-sized and fixed up courtesy of my Photoshop 7.0. I'm posting this in case it strikes someone's fancy. It'll be a post of few, I still have quite an amount to still peruse.

I never get infectious with any kinds of fanfiction. But, Rain, a spin-off to the wildly popular TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one exception. It's a rarity among countless stories that pass through websites, blogs, and forums. But I find that this one truly is. I'll start out at the beginning at how I came to enjoy this story.

I started my online journey with quickly becoming obsessed with digital art: wallpapers, icons, banners, wallscrolls, and many other mediums. I visited many art sites that fellow graphic artists had on their own. One of the first sites that quickly obtained my interest was an art site by the name Obsession of the Moment. As it was so aptly titled, the site owner created art for tv shows she loved. The main shows were Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. I loved her art, it was different than what I had seen, it was more beautiful. Time was put in to make wonderful art from a mixture of effects, textures, and brushes. The owner, Beth, she was the person who created the story along with a friend, Odelia.

Rain, is an online tv show which is popular on the internet for die hard fans of any show. Beth only posted 6 episodes online before she went off to university for her masters and (sadly) without a computer by her side. The part of her site involved with it goes unfinished as the same with the story.

One day, I hope the story will get a continution. There is a listed 18 episodes, whether or not they were actually written and never posted, I do not know.

Mortal Kombat 3 : My Thoughts

For the past year, I've been checking out the Mortal Kombat 3 page on IMDB.com. Supposedly this film has been in the works for several years now - 2007 to be exact. I've looked at many comments that people have left from news and progress of the film and there are a few things I would like to get out there.

One - I'm not a HUGE fan of the series of games, I have played several of them over the years, usually for leisure with friends. I don't follow every plot line and I don't recognize any of the more recent characters revealed in the games. I have always enjoyed the movies. Mortal Kombat because I believed it had a good mixture of action and drama mixed in with a little Johnny Cage satire. Mortal Kombat: Annaliation( I'm sure I botched that up!) because of the action and that's it.

One thing in comments I read that I agreed with was how the first two movies were much lighter and that for the third it can be darker than the previous installments. As stated from various sources, it's going to be a "remake" of the original. I don't think it makes sense to focus on a large group of characters because it doesn't work well for an audience. Besides, anyone who goes to see it in theaters are more likely to get confused UNLESS the scriptwriters can interwine the characters to prevent too many subplots and even plotholes.

I hate how it's being explained away as a "Batman Begins" type movie because I don't particulary like the movie. It was too long and way too much story. Trying to force feed me information is boring...especially to people who aren't die-hard fans. I liked Batman, a fan of the original film and the crappier sequels...but no. I don't want that. Tell me the movie will be darker but you don't have to bring that up to ring me in. I'm sure Bat fans will have a shit fest.

I would love for some of the original cast to appear, I don't see why Christopher Lambert, Linden Ashby, and Robin Shou could reprise their roles. They are older, but I don't think the characters are very young anyway. I can understand the need to bring fresh, new faces because a younger audience would not only be drawn in but familiar with them.

Low and behold, the script is complete and the production is currently casting...if this is suppose to premiere in 2010, they need to kick it into high gear. Hopefully, there will be some head way in the coming months, I'm excited to see who will be casted. I'm getting sick of the Christopher Lambert (rumored) mess...let's get down to business! I'm ready for more kombat!

Where Does Time Go?

Another lapse in time since I posted anything. Time is a standstill right now. Maybe I'll be more active during summer hours. For whatever reason, I do not have the addiction I used to with my computer. I only come on here to write papers, download music, or talk in forums. Other than that, I'm doing something else better with my time. I just can't sit in front of the monitor for long hours, it really fucks with my vision. And it's already bad wearing glasses, so I'd like to keep what eyesight I have.

I've been nostalgic today...When I got online somehow I discoursed back into my heydays of boy bands. A fad that went places for a short period and disappeared ever so quickly. I still dug cheesy ass pop music, and I don't think I'll ever stop having a love affair with it.

2gether

I think anybody who watched MTV in it's heightened period of TRL, we would all remember 2gether. A mock boy band that played up and made serious fun of other boy bands. I had a chance to download the movie because some sweet soul uploaded it and that brought back some great memories. It is a true comedy and one of the few amazing projects that came out of MTV. The movie produced a soundtrack and a follow up album by the group which I was lucky enough to get my hands on from a very cool lady from LiveJournal. I'm still trying to get a hold of the movie soundtrack, but to no avail have I had any luck.

There was also a short-lived tv show which got canceled when the fellow band member and cast mate, Michael Cuccione died. I believe that this was a creative idea which cashed in quite a bit of dough. It's strange how people say that 2gether will disappear, but people still talk about it all the time. Attempting to get the tv show a successful release on DVD and a possible reunion. It's been about ten years now but I don't see it happening but who knows? I will cross my fingers for something to come up.

Beyond that, I was looking for older albums too. I've been searching, searching for the Never Been Kissed album and I want to add extra tracks that belong there too. I looked up some odd things, one of Hanson's albums, some albums by Joey Mcintyre and Jordan Knight...and other stuff. I'm thinking today is the trip to my local CD store. I can find old CDs for about 3 dollars. I keep deciding if I want to post some albums for download. If they are older I may just do it. I don't think many people see this so I'm not concerned. If you do see this post, feel free to tell me if you'd be interested in 2gether albums. If I ever get the soundtrack album, I will post it on here along with the second album with consent from the person who originally gave it to me.

Also, I was thinking about posting Jeremy Jordan's album Try My Love on here. Jeremy Jordan is well known as Guy from Never Been Kissed, but before that he was an early 90s heartthrob. He released only Try My Love in 1993. The album is out of print now, if someone would like me to post it, let me know! I got it this past Christmas per request. It's a bit cheesy but some of the songs make me sing along.

I'm bored so I'm posting. I wish I had some headphones because I much rather listen to music with them, it's easier for me somehow. I wish I could watch a movie I haven't seen in a while like Disturbing Behavior. I wish everyone around me felt better, but I am glad I'm not suffering my usual pain as of late. My brother has been in plenty pain from something getting in his eye and it swelling up. He moaned and screamed for two days straight and it rattled me from any sleep. I spent most of the time reading, just to keep my mind busy. I hate when folks are in pain, especially the important ones in my life. D got some teeth pulled which I was not aware of until recently. So I'm hoping she'll get well soon too. I hate suffering but it's a unfortunate side of the human condition.

I'm browsing music again. I'm trying to find some of those rare albums I have a hell of a time hunting down. I've had a modicum of luck, but still hunting. It always surprises me the amount of music people have that they can share. But I'm very grateful that people share what they have though.

icons ; devour ; still life

I'm having a spur of the moment love for icons. It's been a long time since I sat and really put some effort in some new icons. I uploaded most on my Live Journal. Many of the old ones I never did before. So, today could be the day that I make some new ones.

I watched Devour for the fifth ot sixth time last night and I'm still trying to figure what the hell the plot of that movie really is. It's not the best work Jensen Ackles ever did, and sometimes I wonder why he did it at all. I think the plot was interesting, but somewhere the plot disappears or completely mind fucks you. It all depends on what you think is going on. The first time I watched it, I had no clue what I had just watched. Next time, I was downright plagued by it, trying to find the sense in it. Few times after that I was thinking Jake Gray was the devil's son which is I think what the plot was originally. However, this time, after listening to a buttload of cryptic lines, I just went ahead and came to my own thoughtful conclusion. The character, Jake Gray, is insane. He created this world of the devil in his head. That's all I can think, the movie is just confusing, only an insane person could decifer it.

The movie as a horror movie is on the good side of the horror movie spectrum and I've seen some shitty ones. I think the rewrites during the filming probably deteriorated the intentions of the film. However, the acting is well done and some of the aggressive scenes are a bit loopy, but I like watching it. I think most people who own it is because of Jensen and that's fine. I can watch him in anything, but I prefer him in something more coherent. Some roles I like him in besides the obvious ones (Supernatural!), Eddie G. in Blonde - he had a small role within the four(?) hours of the movie. I loved the way he played his character, silly but debonair. I have to say Alec in Dark Angel because he really brought a character to the show. Just wished the show lasted a little longer than it did.

Speaking of his body of work, I have to talk about the unaired pilot, Still Life, he did for FOX.

First- why did this never air? I found a link for it on a LJ community and downloaded it. I had always wondered what it was about from the two or three pictures floating online from it. I watched the episode from start to finish. And I wish there had been more! I wanted to know what happened to the deceased brother! How he died and why it had to do with a friend of his. I noticed many popular songs from the time were used for the pilot, the opening was wonderfully linked with Coldplay's "Clocks" which set the mood for the entire episode. I liked to believe this could have lasted a few episodes on air if FOX had given it the chance. Damn you, FOX, you love destroying shows don't you?

Second - I wondered if this show had anything to do with that rumor from Dark Angel? I read on Wikipedia (one of the most unreliable places for info), that FOX had wanted the characters, Max (Jessica Alba) and Alec (Jensen Ackles) to hook up. James Cameron, the show's creator was against this, he saw Max and Logan as the couple. But, FOX had some ulterior motive to eventually let Alec have his own spin-off show later on in the same vein as Buffy's Angel. Alec was a popular character among fans but I found it silly for them to be thinking that far ahead. DA was in its second season still establishing a core audience. However, the Friday night schedule spot killed the show's decent ratings and it never returned for a third season. Since they wanted a Alec spin-off, did you think they just took a different step? They figured they already had Jensen on board for Dark Angel and when that sinked, they pulled up another series idea that had been sitting around and figured they could snatch him for that? It seems that's why that was but I think they dropped it last minute. Who knows... I wonder if Jensen Ackles did the pilot before or after his stint on Dawson's Creek?

That's enough ranting...I just had all these thoughts up in my head and I couldn't help but feel like, I don't know. I think some actors get cheated and the fans even more sometimes.

I'm suppose to be working on a paper for school, but I was compelled to rant about something that I stumbled upon while working on this paper. I'm doing strong summary responses and the paper is a response to a proposal about how weak high school is and it should be removed completely so teenagers can begin adulthood sooner. It uses the Columbine shootings as an example to the unhealthy environment high school produces for teenagers.

Well, then I went and read up on the Columbine shootings because I was too young when it happened and I was not aware of all the details of the event. I will say you cannot blame high school for why those boys shot their school up. It could have played a small role in one way or other, but it seemed to me they lacked stability as individuals. They lashed out the way they could and they did it in a violent manner. I'm not going to go into detail because I don't live in Colorado and I did not experience anything like that ever in my life.

I just find it silly to point fingers toward public figures for destroying the youths such as Marilyn Manson. I listen to Manson's songs and I don't have an inkling to hurt anybody just from listening to them. If I ever do, it's usually just my mind being violent because I'm angry for a minute. However, I'm sane enough to realize the dire consequences of doing such an act. So really, it's logic stepping in and saying it's wrong. Maybe logic didn't step in and help those boys, maybe they lost all logic to what they were doing. Professionals diagonosed the boys as being a psychopath and a depressive person. Whether I believe that is correct I do believe there was some unbalance of serotonin in their brain chemicals. Something provoked it, and slowly since it was a planned thing. It was planned for two years it seemed. I mean, really? Shouldn't the parents be looking out for their children?

That could be the problem. I'm lucky I stick so securely to my parents. Even when I was dealing with my own disorder, it got to a point where handling it became impossible. I went to my family and looked for help. But I have managed pass my psychological problems which rooted themselves first in high school, do to my untimely depression and other problems which I rather keep to myself. Beyond that, I have come out stronger and better than I once was and I'm surprised I have. I don't hate those boys for what they did but that they did not do something better than what they did do about their problems.

I don't understand why people aggravate things so immensely they radically effect others around. Are people just selfish and hateful? I'd like to believe not. I have anger, I have rage, I have gloom...but I know that it's stupid to let things like that stop you from living your life. Suicide may look like a good idea at the time but it is not an answer. It's not a way. Doing it does not help people understand anything.

Just...I don't know. I'm done with this.

Busy as a Beaver

I've been pretty preoccupied the last few days. I started up my DA Sounds blog for sharing Dark Angel music.

Next, I offered to do screencaps for the movie Thrashin' for a Brooke McCarter fan site. I plan on having those done by the end of the week.

Lastly, I have a paper due on Wednesday for my English class. I plan on working on it all day tomorrow because I don't have a choice. I'm going to try my best with it.

Oh, and very lastly, I have to finish reading The Bell Jar before the 12th, this Thursday. Which reminds me that there will (FINALLY) be a new Supernatural episode this week!

I Say No to Wincest...!

As much as I'd love to be able to take that slash. I just can't! I find nothing wrong with two guys together. Loving each other and everything but I can't read that fiction people write. Especially about the two guys I have such a heart for that are on my favorite show Thursday every week. They are brothers, friends, compadres, and nothing else! Fans just go places I cannot go. I just keep thinking that if they went online and looked at those stories and read a few, their eyes might pop fully out of their sockets.

I think they just don't go there especially when it's brought up. So stop with the snide comments, you remember Jensen's face at the convention last year. They are friends, friends, friends. I have brothers and if people were writing these stories about me doing "things" with them, that would freak the shit outta me! I just can't read it, I tried to just read a bit, but that was too much for me to digest. Maybe just not an NC-17 one. Or maybe one where they didn't talk about "blowing loads". Gosh, I just had a shiver run down my back.

I know so many fans are really into the Wincest/J2, but it just cannot exist for me. I like deep stuff, and so much is like smut. That's okay-a little, but not the whole page! I think women are just hornier these days. Like guys get off on two girls, girls get off on two guys. No! I adore the actors too much to like it. It just destroys them. I hope they've never read that stuff. I think they'd be freaked out.

Damn me for not posting enough. I had a bad day today. I lost my library card and that's one fourth of my life right there. I go to the library all the time for stuff and if I don't find it, well, I have to pay three dollars for a new one. I guess I'm bugged that I can't figure where it went, I checked every place it could, would, and should be, but it was not there. So, I just have to wait for it to pop up when I least expect it to or I go get a new one. Oh life and it's annoying twists and turns.

I've been wanting to listen to the band Travis really bad for the past few hours. I started downloading their discography because I really like them but don't have any of their songs except for one from the Roswell Soundtrack. I wonder if I'll like their newer or older albums? I always wonder that when I get an interest in groups. Like Sugar Ray, originally a punk group with edge that turned into a pop mega machine with "Fly" or Filter that was either alternative or industrial or both that at the turn of pop went with the flow as well. Filter had some good hits like "Take a Picture" and "Best Things" which are completely popped fueled. However, listening to their albums in whole you'll realize they are very well still the groups they were originally. It just helps when your tunes can reflect the times. That reminds me, I should get the Swimfan soundtrack sometime, I had an intense obsession with that soundtrack and the movie at the same time.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon started this week and I think the show is good. He's not as quirky as Conan was but I think Fallon can have his own show. I remember liking him back on SNL, even though he could not keep a straight face through the Behind the Music ; Blue Oyster Cult skit. Ferrell was too damn funny though. I can admit that, I'd be laughing my ass off if I was a new cast regular too. But back to the talk show, most of his guests are friends of his almost such as Tina Fey or Drew Barrymore. He isn't too formal with the interview, he lets it go whereever it may end up. The opening can have some funny jokes but I'm not impressed with any of the games they've come up with. The game where three people came down on the stage and just had to lick something for ten dollars wasn't that interesting. Fallon had them lick a lawnmower, a fish bowl, and a printer. WTF? Why not a fish or a dirty toilet bowl? Come on, that's like giving away ten bucks for FREE! When the girl got to sing with Bon Jovi was cool but she was so frightened when Bon Jovi came to sing with her. I suppose I would be too, but he wanted to hug her and she looked like she was running away from him. I would not run away from Jon Bon Jovi! I will say the Castle Greyskull was funny with the NYC major. Send me a pic of that , Jimmy!

Not much is going on really, but I am busy nonetheless.

This week is mid-terms week at school and I am studying and finishing some work I need to finish. March is also Spring Break month and I'm really hoping to pop on down to Florida for the week so I can get a little R&R.

Right now, I'm setting up the clips I will be providing on my youtube channel for March. It will be Instant Star month featuring performances from the first two seasons and possibly bloopers if I really feel like fucking with it. It takes time and editing which I hate messing with but I do it because I have many subscribers and people who like what I post there so I do it for them. Or until youtube tries to shut me down. They have done it to many friends of mine. Hopefully, if I post them right I won't get shtick for it.

keanu ; freaks and geeks ; black circle boys

People that rag on Keanu Reeves acting ability piss me off. Keanu Reeves is one of my favorite actors of all time. I've been such a big fan of his for years now and it pisses me off when people says he can't act. It's not that, they just cannot stand his voice! "He sounds like a baffoon!" If you have seen any movies of his other than The Matrix or Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey, you would surely be able to tell the man has some acting chops besides sounding like a surfer dude. I love him in many of the films. I enjoy his action films like Point Break, Speed, and Street Kings but I really like him as that abusive hillbilly in The Gift , I did not even recognize him in that role. I thought his loser-y role in the black comedy I Love You To Death was great too. I think people are just way to harsh on some actors and they don't need to be, I'm sure its shitty enough having no privacy nowadays, now they get haggled about every little thing they do or don't do. Give it a fucking break, folks.

Just for you:

I finished watching Freaks and Geeks : The Complete Series and it was amazing. Another show that should have lasted longer than it did. It was highly praise but like every good show, it didn't stand a chance in the ratings due to NBC's nifty schedule changes. In watching it, you really do end up loving both the freaks and the geeks because you can relate to them in some way. I love how the show neglects to actually pay attention to the popular and pretty kids only viewing them from a petty stand point. My favorite character's are Daniel Desario (James Franco) and Bill Haverchuck (Martin Starr). There are many cameos in it one notably by Ben Stiller in one of the final episodes. I may actually buy this series if I ever see it at a store, it's really wonderful and I recommend to everyone.

Another movie I watched was Black Circle Boys, what a dark, dark film. And not because it was on Youtube. It basically is about cults, drugs & alcohol, and girls. It starred a rather young Scott Bairstow who looks a helluva lot like Hayden Christensen and Eric Mabius as the whackjob Satanist. I think the only bad part of the film is when they kill a cat, I'm firmly against animal abuse but the scene is short and you don't actually see the cat get killed. Why didn't they just visit the butcher and get some fricking blood, I mean, really...they could have. The film has HUGE underlying gay currents in it. It's about a brotherhood of Satanists almost but really teen headbangers who think they are "hardcore" because they listen to metal and worship "Father" they mention several times. The one warped part was seeing New Kids' alumni Donnie Wahlberg as a gay drug dealer/Satanist that was way into kink...that threw me and freaked me out. If I found this somewhere on DVD for 10 dollars, I'd buy it. It goes for that much on Amazon and whatnot so maybe I could find it in store where everything is on backorder. I hate when things I want are on backorder.

I could totally write slash for that movie. I'm really not into writing things like that but for the characters Kyle and Shane, I could. I was thinking about it when I watched it. I still may if I watch the movie again. I wonder if others have ever wrote some??? I'll have to look it up.

Happy Valentine's Day, belated.

I did not do anything special today, I never treat the holiday as a holiday. I would probably feel different about it if I had someone special to share it with but I don't. I sat around watching Freaks and Geeks (great show, should have lasted longer than 18 episodes) and eating any kind of junk food available and in reaching distance of my arms.

Friday the 13th is my special day, one of my favorites. Many people consider it to be a superstition and overall bad day but I have some of the best days on Friday the 13ths. I went and saw the new, somewhat "remake" of it early...at 1:30 with my brother, did not have anyone else to go with. There was 10 people in the theater when we got there and maybe a dozen more showed up in the next half hour. I was surprised that I enjoyed the film, it was a little like I expected but they definitely tried to change it up a bit. I'm more into Jason as a hunter, an aggressor then that weird, "supernatural" one. Like in Jason takes Manhattan, the one guy runs up a ladder on the boat and a second later Jason is right behind him and throws him off. There is no logic in how that works chronologically! There were some elements from the other Jason movies but they tried changing it up a bit, not bore an audience with the same death scenes we've seen for ten movies. And, it helps that Jared Padalecki is in it! He looked great in the movie as Clay (everyone had stupid names...Trent, Jenna...) and his hair did too! I think they need to stop greasing down his hair in Supernatural, it was all light and fluffy in the movie! Lastly, the stereotypes were still there the slut greasing her boobs down, the nice girl and guy, the total douchebag (TRENT), the black guy who makes racial cracks, the asian guy who gets stuffed in the car trunk, the blonde slutty chicks, the nerd who makes blatant references to Star Wars and wears a t-shirt of the same interest... I was surprised by the very lack of sex in the film, just one at the beginning and then later on. They were a little over-the-top, but both involved Jason in some way...(not in that way). The ending was a little bothersome, it could have been cleaner but I guess they wanted to fashion it like the original. It was nice for that little cameo of Nana Visitor as Mrs. Vorhees. Overall, it's good enough to see in theaters, I don't see fans being too disappointed with the outcome. There was something missing, I can't pinpoint it.

I totally miss the Friday the 13th marathons, since TNN became Spike TV they don't air them anymore. UGH...

I'm trying for the life of me to find some Ginger Snaps fanfiction. However, my searches are very empty-handed except for fanfiction.net. The only probably is most of it is fucking poems, not actual stories and the other half is basically one chapter. 122 stories and hardly a single harrowing word to read. Nowhere, not a site online. Beyond that I'm tired because I haven't slept and I have classes today. I could probably type up that paper before I even get there. Ain't life grand when it isn't fucking you over???

Okay, here I go again. I had a shit day yesterday, enough said. I finished that River Phoenix bio and the man who wrote it really is insane. There was a whole portion of it where he had some dream where he talked to The Man Upstairs and made a deal to switch his own life to have River's back. It was cool to read and possibly foreshadowy-ness because next thing I know, I'll be having some dreams where I'm sitting around talking to River too. The guy did put River on a pedestal which isn't bad considering the alternative, him being exploited due to his private drug problem. River Phoenix was a wonderful person, I know this after everything I have read about him and it is truly sad that he is no longer here with everyone else. He cared about things that people don't take the time to stop and look at. He wanted a better world and I didn't blame him for that. With the world we live in today, it's only going to get worse. I cannot help but think what he'd be doing today to better this shithole of society we have now.

I went to my Poly Sci class on Friday and found out I hate that class worse than I hated it before. The man is opinonated and talks too fucking much. I can't take it sometimes. Whatever, I try to pay attention, I'm there to learn but it there is no feedback as the students. I have no idea where to turn any of my work in! And it's all shit you have to do outside of class. I am going to fail this course because it's everything I hoped it would not have to take at university. D, you'd love to piss this dude off and challenge his ass, I wish you were in my class!

I watched "The Last of the High Kings" today with that beautiful man, Jared Leto. That dark hair, those blue eyes (I think they are blue...), and that Irish accent. Well, he had an accent because he was Irish in the film. It's a good one, it's about a teenage boy living in Ireland during the late 70s and dealing with life. Christina Ricci had a small part as a Yank who comes and visits intially falling for Jared's character Frankie. The best part was Catherine O'Hara as Frankie's Ma, she was very over-the-top, wacky character. This was either the second or third time watching it. I enjoy it, especially since most of the soundtrack is the Irish band, Thin Lizzy. They had some good jams.

I'm getting sick of online. Really sick. I think I'm disappearing a bit. Maybe I'll go watch "Still Life" after I get through all this work for tomorrow. Poly Sci is kicking my ass.

Supernatural Pimpin'!

Right now I'm just flowin'. I broke my rule on posting everyday but folks, some days aren't as interesting as others. I'm dancing and doing a little yoga right now. At 3:30, this morning. Sleep has become a luxury in my life. It's either I sleep a lot or I don't sleep at all. I'm also breaking time to surf around for Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki photos. I don't know why, I don't get much of a kick out of getting fan fetishes. It's not a fetish but I've been saving pictures and before you know i I'll hit the 1,000 marker and feel like a jackass.

I'm passing time until I do this paper for Comp 104. I've been mulling it over. I hate writing things with substance AKA closed-formed writing. I prefer just spewing something out from my head not worrying if it's the right idea or if it is grammatically correct. I say screw it. I love my creative drive and close-form makes it disappear. But, I don't blame the instructor, students are suppose to learn it that way and I understand that. I'm hoping it'll be subjects I can talk about openly. The instructor is really nice and he wants us to feel uncomfortable writing especially with the throttling hell I had in the past with essays and fanfiction.

Speaking of fanfiction, I got this great Supernatural one. It'd be categorized as general and it may hit to some kind of relationships, but not as far as chapter two. I might post it on Fanfiction.net or my LiveJournal. I am proud of myself for finding an idea to roll with and it's not half bad. I'm not going to share it with anybody who's been reading this blog. I need to do revisions for the chapters so far but I really want to get it out of my head and down onto the screen/Word/anything else. It's Deancentric, because is there a cooler character to write about? Well, Sam is fun to write too. I gotta give Sammy love too because the guy just ain't getting it. Jared's a sweetie too so he deserves some character pimpin'!

I never know what to do to pass the time. I wish I had some fun hobbies, I really wanna try inline-skating again. Remember when that was such a fad? I loved it and I used to be good at it! I bought a pair a few years back and I'd really like some use out of them, I'm going to have to hit that roller rink someday soon. Reading is my only hobby as of now. Currently, I should be done with Supernatural : Bone Key, it's not a long read but I just haven't been interested enough to sit and finish it. I also got a River Phoenix bio I need to read and take back to the library before it's due. And the countless books D lent me. Yeah, I know she'll want them back soon enough. Time is filled with school. Mondays and Wednesdays are long, boring days. I almost fell asleep in the last class of the day on Monday and my teacher was asking me if I was okay. Yeah, the lecture just got boring enough where my eyes were drooping and I was fading into la-la-land.

wow, feeling like a schmuck

I don't get why people are giving me a hard time about posting icons a day earlier of a Supernatural episode to air. It was one picture and hardly a spoiler in my opinion. But it's their job to have restrictions I suppose. It's not that shocking, wow, a picture of young Sam and Dean!

Ya know, I could care less that Jensen Ackles smokes, if he does it seems like a socially thing. My brother is the same way, he smoked when he drinks and is with his friends otherwise he hates it. Or he doesn't do it. I don't like the smell even though my parents smoked most of their lives. My dad quit several years ago because he became a diabetic and it's safe to say that since I am one too I can't divulge into that habit. I can't really drink either...everything I consume effects me heavily. It sucks majorly but I just deal and it's oh-so important I lead a healthy lifestyle and most people don't in one way or another. Somehow that turned into something about me. Sum up - I can't smoke but Jensen can all he wants. Why am I even addressing this??? God forbid someone he knows reads my stupid rants...

So I missed my American Government class again. I got sick from the damned Symlin I'm suppose to take. The side effects can be brutal. I get weak, sweat, shake loads, and want to sleep. Sleep is the only way to deal with it, sleep it off but I usually wake up naseous because it's one of the many things I hate about it. I lose my appetite hence probably why they said it would help me lose some of the weight I gained from my insulin. I weight 20 lbs more than I used to and I want to get back to my normal weight. It's a pain to exercise during the winter, I wish I lived near a mountain, I'd going snowboarding or skiing. The punching bag and treadmill are both out in the garage where they are probably frozen or covered in ice. It's been that cold that it's freezing things. The kitchen window pane had ice on it last week, on the inside. It hasn't been this cold since I remembering being alive.

I hope the snow will melt and it'll warm up. I don't like summer but I don't like freezing. Fall is what I need, the chilly air but warm sun. The beautiful oranges, reds, and yellows...I miss you, Fall. I am gettiung mushy and stupid. I think I'm PMSing. I get really moddy before hand and it's true, it's not a myth. Your personality does a bit of a 180.

I think I could just keep this post going because I can. I'm trying to post something everyday...I started on a Supernatural fanfiction I'm really excited about. I have horrible time sticking to anything that doesn't keep my interest but this one is! That and Lemon Sour Puss, the one-legged pirate that helps Colonel Mustard AKA Nathan from time to time...but that's for another day.

I hope someone out there in bloggerland is having a better day than myself. Haha. :)

I just finished watching "After School Special" and it was a flood gate to remind me of what I just left behind in high school. Sam pretty much nailed it on the head when he says things change when it's over and all left behind.
When high school ends no one is leading you by the hand, if someone is, then it won't always stay that way. It's about learning who you are and what you want to become. No one should be telling you, they should help guide you.
High school was a heightened experience. People always over-dramatized things and never stopped complaining about every detail. You thought everyone wanted to ruin your life, but they don't; they don't want you to fail, to give up like many people do. Parents may seem cruel but they want what's best for you and trust me, you don't always know what is best for yourself. High school is many mistakes made into one and you learn from them. Some people do not and they are a still paying for those things.

THE ONLY PERSON THAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK IS YOURSELF. YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE WHETHER YOU WANT YOUR FUTURE OR NOT...

Now, my high school experience was not a pleasant one. The schooling was fine, boring, but nothing that I hated. I digged myself in a hole for several years of it and ended up in a very black spot. I've been trying to rub out that spot and recycle it to others because you'd be surprised people are alike. It's a place I have to remember, just like I am now. I want to get rid of it, I want to just scream out all that frustration I held for many years but I don't. I paid my time there. I want some new black spots. Well, maybe some gray spots or off-white ones. I don't think I want things that inky. I'm shocked that when I start getting a life others lose theirs. My brother loses his girlfriend, my dad loses his job...and I'm just here. I'm here and I am damn thankful for that. Something to look forward to this Thanksgiving!

Another thing about Supernatural's episode tonight was Dean. Dean, Dean, Dean. In those shorts, the tube socks, the red headband. If only he had a cheesy mullet, then he would have been dead on for some pyscho 80s fitness guru.

The little boy (Colin Ford) playing Sam was so wonderful as him in the episode. He played Sam before in other episodes, I don't know how many but they did good casting on that account. Young Dean (Brock Kelly), who looked familiar, was smokin' as the older brother. We got a little reminder of old Dean, the brown leather wearing one - where the HELL did that COAT go? Is it because he got a personality makeover he doesn't need it? Is it because of his dad and everything he does not wear it? I don't know, it bothers me. Also, is Sam's name just Sam, they always call him that even when he was introduced as a new student. Is his real name not Samuel?

One thing that bother me, what was with the sweetheart, honey thing from young Dean to the teacher? The teacher looked about sixty (okay, maybe forty) and it's like he was hitting on her. I can't complain though, he was pysched about a few cheerleaders at the school being of legal age. Dean, Dean, Dean.

I'm tired again. Everytime I come to post on here, I'm exhausted. I'm going to go to sleep so I can get up tomorrow and get something useful done. And watch Supernatural. I'm looking forward to Dean in those tube socks and short-shorts! I'm making cookies because I like them and they expired yesterday so they need to get eaten. I'd offer to friends, if I had any.

I put that picture on my art wall and next thing ya know I'm sitting on my bed staring up at the darn thing. There is something about the way he looks just in this photo that I like.

Life Just Seems Better in Movies

Nothing exciting going down in my life right now but it seems like everyone else's relationships are exploding everywhere! I can't stand my brother's not-girlfriend. She is not right for him and he knows it! "I feel sorry for her.." Fuck that! She cheats on you and you know she has a bad history, that's not the first relationship you ever want to get into. Especially crazy shit. I told him chicks bullshit, we are the masters at bullshitting. We can turn everything around on others, we can lie our asses off about what we do and what we are willing to do. It's lame and I hate when he goes off trying to explain everything away. It don't work that way. That's why I know a relationship is not for me.

Bender: Sporto, do you get along with your parents?

I watched "The Breakfast Club" tonight. I've seen it so many times and it never gets old for me. I want to find someone who hates that movie and explains why. How one individual cannot relate to that movie would stump the hell out of me. I love it, it's got some great memorable lines. And one of the most popular 80s casts ever. I'll talk more about this some other time.

River Phoenix. Big fan. I was three when he died so I didn't know him very well when he was alive. I am happy I discovered who he is now. He was an amazing person and deserves to perserved in history. Unfortunately, he is more remembered from dying of a drug overdose in front of Johnny Depp's Viper Room. Well, the Viper Room isn't Johnny Depp's anymore, I believe he sold it a few years ago. I'm trying to read some books on Pheonix, I was intrugued after reading one of them but I figure that's only one person's perspective. Amazon had only one copy of a book I wanted to look into, so I'm thinking it would not be easy to look for at a library or a book store. I hate ordering things off the internet because I don't have a credit card or anything so I can't do it.

I've had a very unrestful day today. My brother bought a drum kit because he thinks he wants to be a drummer and play in a friend's band. The whole bright idea came to fruition when he and his pals were playing Rock Band. I'm sorry to people who love it, but it will not grant you access to become the best musician ever or even have the ability to play musical instruments. It only makes your brother sound like a dying cat as he squeals out lines from a Weezer song. But the point of this is - the drums are too loud. I think I might stash them out in the garage where they'll freeze and get snacked on by some creature such as a raccoon or a rat. So ,they costed him $500, that dough ain't going to give me back those precious hours of sleep I missed because of him. P.S. - Practice makes perfect, Nick.

Still looking for certain scores...and I downloaded The Craft soundtrack in M4A format. I want to kick myself for that because I have to find a good audio converter so I can listen to/burn them. I was wondering if anybody really knew what a FLAC or OGG audio file was? I'm pretty incompetent when it comes to such things. I wondered how they differ from MP3s or WMAs...

I watched Solarbabies (Jason Patric, Jami Gertz) the second time yesterday night. I like the cast minus Jason Patric because I have never liked him. The bad guys were very cheesy and I could not stand the bleach blonde mullet on Gaveil (was that his name?). There are fun action sequences and I love Darstar (Adrian Pasdar) the Tchigani with his hawk hence my silly nickname for him, Hawkboy. Okay, was the leader of the Tchigani the alien hunter from Critters? I'm sure it is, it looks like the same guy. The end credits where they have the Solarbabies running to the water is too silly. They really could have left it the way it was, and I do wonder if they never been in the water why do they seem to all know how to swim?

I'm going to hunt down a score to this movie.

A Max/Alec Fanmix ; Dark Angel

I have been putting this little ditty together for several months. It took a week to pick an array of songs that ranged from recent to older and were both upbeat and slow at the same time. The harder part for me was preparing the artwork (that I put together in Photoshop myself) and zipping the file for download. I have only unzipped, never zipped, any files. Hopefully, the whole shebang will work fine and you can enjoy the songs.

This fanmix is my first ever and I will pull some more together soon. This is purely for fun so if you don't like the show, the characters, or the songs, don't tell me that.

I am a big fan of the belated Dark Angel, the James Cameron's show on Fox that ran from 2000-2002 for two seasons. The show centered around a dystopic future and genetically engineered human beings kicking ass and trying to run from their governmental past. The show starred Jessica Alba (Fantastic Four 1 &2, Awake, The Eye), Michael Weatherly (NCIS) , and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, My Bloody Valentine 3-D, Ten Inch Hero). I wish it had lasted longer than it had as any fan does, but Fox axed the show after it got placed in the "death" spot (Friday nights) and the ratings failed to keep up.

family parties ; old crushes ; blogs ; osts hunting

I had a family birthday party to attend today and I always love seeing my relatives. It's weird because it feels like I never see them anymore. Life is so busy, you miss the simple things it brings to us. I will say it brings back an old crush I had...it was so silly, he was in high school and I was like 7 years old! I always feel like a moron because even now those silly crush feelings reappear when I really don't have them anymore. It's always something I worry about at family get-togethers, seeing the guy. I don't really feel like getting specific because it's not important.

The rest of the day was a drag, I wandered around on LiveJournal and posted icons on my icon journal. I switched over here because it feels easier to open-handedly talk about whatever the hell I want to say and not feel like a million people are hounding in on my silly posts. I like blogging in small doses. I got turned onto Blogger because I found some rare soundtrack blogs I love visiting and downloading from. I'm always searching for hard to find shit and having a pain-in-the-ass time trying to get it!

Sick and Instant Star Blues

I stayed home today from my Poly Sci class because I was feeling really sick this morning. I slept most of it off during the day. I mean, I could eat anything without feeling like is was going to come out the way it came in. I hate missing class, but I have a feeling I'm not going to be liking this class too much. Just reading the Fogotten Man, the times of the Depression is depressing enough to put me in a slumber. When I sat down to read the required 7 chapters for the week, I had no idea what I was reading. I'm not much of a history buff and it always bored me to tears but I really want to learn something I don't know. That was the point of taking it and it's required so I might as well get the hell out of the way.

After I woke up from a long slumber, I still felt burning hot from being sick, I thought I would sit and watch Instant Star. It's show that ran 4 seasons on The N which is a Canadian television network thingamabob. I couldn't find a place to watch it online! It's not on the channel anymore and I just want to catch the episodes I missed because I've seen several from season 1 and 2 but nothing else. I mean, the official site has a link to the CTV channel but I don't think they have anything other than season 4. The N site does not even show episodes but it does have songs by the star of the show, Alexz Johnson, who has a beautiful voice. I remember her from a little Canadian tv show that ran on the Disney channel for a few years called So Weird. I did not care too much for her then because she replaced the lead character of the show, Cara Delizia, whom was my favorite. Alexz had sung a few songs on there before two years later for Instant Star. The soundtracks one through three are amazing and I was surprised by how much I actually liked the show. If anyone can find a place where I can just watch the seasons episodes, please point the way!!!

The first post in my blog.

I'm 18, and I like it. I'm a strange movie addict as in I like awesomely bad movies, especially horror ones. I watch Sam and Dean Winchester every week killing some evil sons of bitches. I am a full time student and I hope that goes some where if not, I'll take on a lucrative career in the demon hunting business. Be one way to get out of a shit hole of a town.

Say what you want to me, give the truth and don't bullshit me. If you don't like what I say, don't read my blog. It's that simple.

This is a personal blog that might have book or movie reviews, definitely my opinions, and maybe music/videos.

I won't rant right now, but expect one in the near future.
